That NBA Jam background music brings so much memories of my teenage years

Other than the load times, I think this is the best console version. Would spend hours playing this as a kid.

@@MegaBronsky1 Actually the joke's on you, since this particular version of the game was NOT released on the 32X though! 😉You're thinking of the sequel, that was NBA Jam: Tournament Edition, which WAS on that console, and several others. The Sega CD had the overall best port of the original NBA Jam I.M.O., even if it was still far from arcade perfect however.
@dajcarroll304 жыл бұрын
The Playstation 1 version was the best version of NBA JAM. It was NBA JAM TE, but still. It was damn near the arcade.
@freakyfornash4 жыл бұрын
@@dajcarroll30 Definitely. The Saturn version was amazing too for certain though, albeit with slightly lesser quality than the PS1 port. That was when those consoles could initially do near arcade perfect ports of games back then as well.
@ALittleSnowFairySaga Жыл бұрын
@@freakyfornash I thought the Saturn was better then the PS1 version.

this is the only sports game I could ever tolerate... (that's of course not including _Microsoft Motocross Madness 1 or 2_ of which I was the MSN Gaming Zone #1 _Rated Race_ player in Supercross for like 3 weeks & Nationals for like 18 months...)

LOL i like how the Sega CD make music better but the graphic is still shitty like the genesis versions
@HereForAStorm7 жыл бұрын
That was the case with most Sega CD games... very unfortunate... there was quite a bit of untapped power in the CD/32X back then.

Said another way, Snes still a better port than Sega CD Did Sega mega drive by the way, use alot of the Amigas music / style?

Same was the case with the original Mortal Kombat on Sega CD, which many were expecting to be a near arcade perfect port, but was sadly nothing more than an ever so slightly enhanced Genesis version though.
@willpowerrazorblade64364 жыл бұрын
That's because it is still a SEGA genesis with CD enhanced features.
@freakyfornash4 жыл бұрын
@@willpowerrazorblade6436 Though the Sega CD was able to have slightly better detail and animation with the graphics (along with far better sound), but didn't do anything to improve among the grainy color palette the Genesis had though.

I think I got it worked out. At the 960 setting, I notice the screen cuts off at the top and bottom if I set the filter settings right. I can then use that for my Sega emulator without going to full screen. ^_^
@thecowboy211 жыл бұрын
I did and I do have the latest version - Fusion 3.64. 3.65 isn't out yet.
@thecowboy211 жыл бұрын
Do you know if there's any way to get a 800x600 window size in Kega Fusion? The middle size they offer is a little small for me, and the 3rd size is too large. I'm trying to customize the window size. If I could, then Fusion would be the only emulator I use.

Sega cd had hardware scaling why not use it on the players like the arcade had?
@VideoGaming4U5 жыл бұрын
Good Question.
@Lightblue22225 жыл бұрын
Exactly. At least we got it with 32x but I feel they could have done it sooner. Either it can't scale multiple sprites back and forth at different times freely and fast enough "the players and ball can get a little hectic." or they were lazy.
@freakyfornash4 жыл бұрын
That, and this (and other home console versions of the game) also didn't have the announcer say the name's of the players like the arcade game did either. Not sure if that was simply because of console limitations, and/or also due to laziness either.

Shouldve said Barkley. The version I always played, even on SNES was Barklet/Majerle. They later changed it to Kevin Johnson. None of the home versions had Shaq. They replaced him with Nick Anderson.
@freakyfornash Жыл бұрын
None of the home console versions of NBA Jam did so until the ports of Tournament Edition for the Jaguar, Sega Saturn, and PS1. Not even the Sega 32X edition could do so either. Not sure if it was due to limitations, or pure laziness either.
