The NBA has "CITY edition" uniforms for each team. The court is also reflective of the city's culture. So when you see the different uniforms it's usually a primetime game and the camera crew will showcase a lot of what the city has to offer, food, parks, venues, skyline, lakes, etc.

Hey Daz, back in the day, it was the home team wore white and the road team wore their dark "alternate" color. It's still the same today, EXCEPT teams now have many alternate jerseys. When Nike took over the manufacturing deal, the tradition kind of went out the door. Each team has 4 jerseys in rotation during the season and no "traditional" Home whites and away darks, even though the rulebook may still word it as home wears light colored jerseys and away wears dark. The four jerseys are: -"The Association" jersey is the conventional white jersey. -"The Icon" jersey is the traditional road jersey. -"The Statement" jersey is the teams opportunity to make a bold pitch about what the organization represents. -"The City Edition" jerseys are a celebration of either the city/town/state where the team resides. -Teams selected to play on Christmas Day get a specialized Christmas Day jersey to wear. -Some older teams got "Classic Edition" uniforms as well, a jersey that looks like the teams old jerseys, iconic looks. -The players used to have some say in what color to wear, but the league now has a master schedule for the 82 game season and they choose which uniform a team will wear for that game since Nike took over the contract. It's made to avoid clashes in color, but also maximize market exposure for each teams jersey style throughout the regular NBA season. Nike also has control over which color compression tights or sleeves are worn with which uniform -Here is the NBA's Lockervision. Luka absolutely plays in slow motion, somehow he's still one of the hardest players to guard lmao. elite passing, very crafty with his handle, great decision making in the moment, good shooter, incredible finisher (layups, floaters) as a Nets fan, it was pretty delicious watching Kyrie fumble that win after he left Brooklyn the way he did 😂they messed up like 3 close game opportunities like this after the trade. this year they're gonna be scary with an off-season behind them though, seriously watch out for Mavs this year. But ever since Adam Silver became the commissioner, that rule became linient and teams wear whatever the hell they feel like it. So you can see away teams wearing their white or team colored home jerseys instead on the road.

The NBA used to be white/gold at home and color for away but now they let the home team decide which unis to wear and the other team picks something that's a different color. In the nfl, usually the home teams wear color and away team white but a few teams like the dolphins and Cowboys pick to wear white at home for different reasons but the home team picks whatever they want and the away team has to wear a different color.

The Premiere league doesn't have to do an all star game, but they could create something similar to an "All-Pro Team" like the NFL does. You don't actually play a game, but it's a high honor and it only goes to the best person at each position. Plus there is no fan voting, so it's not a popularity contest like the pro bowl is.

Before Nike became the official sponsor of the league home teams would wear white and the away team would wear the teams primary color. The Lakers were the only team who didn’t wear white at home. Now with Nike at the helm that home and away formulae sort of got thrown out the window. As long as the two opposing teams colors contrast anything is good to go.

In the past, the home team always had to wear white because logistically they couldn't always clean the jerseys for teams on the road (you stay on the road for weeks sometimes) and it would hide stains better for aesthetic reasons if you wore a dark jersey. That rule doesn't exist anymore so it's up to the home team to pick whatever jersey they want. But I don't think any team has broken that tradition.

The whole all star thing is exclusive to american sports and I'm not sure if it's true but saw a bunch of nhl fans on reddit saying a bunch of average non deserving guys are crowned all stars which is one of the reasons the term holds no weight.

The problem with only following a sport through compilations like this is that it leads you to believe the wrong things like Harden and Kyrie being big game winning players. Harden is literally most known for melting down in every playoffs he's ever been in and Kyrie has destroyed every team he's joined and never done anything at all without LeBron running the show. Westbrick is known for being the dumbest player ever with some of the worst lategame/situational awareness the sport has ever seen from a star and his shooting percentages are so bad it is actually mind blowing any team allows him to take as many shots as he does. I'll take consistency and winning over a few highlights any day.
