@@cordellingram808Definitely Scoot/Sharpe. I think that some ppl are sleeping on just how good Sharpe is going to be. Dead serious... If I was John Hammond, I literally would've picked Sharpe #1 overall last season. Ppl can laugh at me all they want. I realize that Banchero is better at this moment & that he was more NBA ready & the safer pick. I realize that Sharpe was raw & is still a bit raw... But I legit think that Sharpe's ceiling is top 10 player of all time level. I see him becoming a better shooting version of Kobe. Yeah... He's gotta have the freak work ethic to match... But the talent & skill is there. This POR backcourt. I see it becoming something similar to prime Westbrook paired with prime Kobe. Possibly even better. Idgaf who thinks I'm crazy for this take.
@floydclark6710 Жыл бұрын
@@freddead1438 Yeah. Ant has crazy bounce for sure. He needs to get traded though. Even with Dame asking out, Ant should be moved too. They can hang onto him for a bit if they want now just to see how it works... But the only way it works is if Sharpe can play at the 3, which I don't see happening. Either that, or bring Ant off the bench in a Herro type 6th man role.

Jordans has had a chip on his shoulder ever since the Kwame Brown bust. Stating he would "never draft another player who couldnt palm the basketball " Maybe Scoots size had something do with it. 🤷♂️ Portland got a blessing and a curse at the same time. Props to the narrator of the video. I dig his style & flow. Seems like Dame took a shot at Scoot already. I could be wrong 🤷♂️. Stating in an interview. "During my time entering the league you had to earn your spot & time". "With todays draft picks if you go 1-6 its like they are handing you the keys to the franchise. Imo itd be nice to see them play together a couple games, but id also like to see DAme on a competitive team.

@@floydclark6710 great point I was talking more about the organization never investing in great back up for Damian so how does scoot feel about an organization that has to trade a player because they’re penny pinching
@floydclark6710 Жыл бұрын
@@TruGame. I'm assuming by you saying "great backup" that you're talking about Dame's overall supporting cast being weak, as opposed to a backup PG playing behind Dame? Regardless, I really don't think it matters. These young guys who just got drafted are beyond happy to be where they are at. They're competitors & top picks like Webenyama & Scoot believe that they are good enough to build a championship team around. It can always get sour down the road... Whether in 3 or 4 years, or a decade + like Dame, where they demand a trade... But I'd be willing to bet it's the last thing on Scoot's mind right now. That said... The Blazers failure to put a championship team around Dame has a lot less to do with penny pinching & much more to do with incompetence. Dame actually shoulders some blame in this himself. The biggest mistake the Blazers FO made with Dame was constantly pairing him next to another small guard who is bad on D. You can't have your bad defensive superstar on a supermax deal, then make your #2 priority the same thing. Dame/CJ & Dame/Ant got absolutely torched on the defensive end. The Blazers were actually pretty well constructed when Dame played next to Wes Mathews. They also had another all-star in Aldridge at PF. Batum played good D. That team could've made noise in the future, but Aldridge left before Dame entered his prime & the team was just beyond imbalanced &/or underwhelming from that point on. It wasn't so much about pinching pennies. It was just bad strategy. Scoot actually appears to have a much higher ceiling than Dame defensively. I think Sharpe is also gonna be a very good player & I believe that backcourt will work together MUCH better than Dame/CJ for example. Time will tell though.

Wait... Are you tryna insinuate that Scoot won't work because Westbrook isn't currently a threat? Or are you tryna say that Westbrook just isn't a threat to Scoot as an opponent that Scoot will face? Westbrook definitely was a major threat in his prime. Not to mention, Scoot still has the opportunity to improve his shot, unlike Westbrook today. Scoot did improve his shot drastically from this last season VS the previous. That's exactly what you want to see. Yeah... He's never had a great shot... But we're talking about a 9× all-star, former MVP & future HOF'r. LOL Boy averaged a damn triple double in 4 different seasons, 1 of which he averaged well over 30 ppg. On some damn Oscar Robinson type shit. Every team hopes that the PG they draft turns out to be as good as somebody like Westbrook.

Scoot's an upside play, not a dominant rookie. He didn't Dominate the G-League...rarely dunked (He successfully dunked it like 17 times out of 368+ shots). He didn't get to the rim more than average at best and finished there at only 56% on layups iirc (below average). But he's got a ton of upside...tho his size mutes that...but def upside. He'll be good to great but likely his upside is somewhat limited by his stature and game. This isn't DRose, he doesn't play anything like DRose outside of a highlight here and there where he gets free... and he gets about the same amount of mid-range jumpers as CJ McCollum...not easy layups. Mid-range specialist with elite passing in PnR. Not sure that'll "destroy" but he's got upside.
