This game has actually made some serious steps forward this year. I'm actually going to keep playing this one instead of returning it like live 14 and 15. There is no benefit for anyone if all we do is try and shutout one version and leave no competition for 2k. And from some of the comments I'm seeing my guess is most of those people didn't even buy or play this game and are judging it as if they have. It's fine to enjoy 2k basketball more but that doesn't mean you must hate NBA live...

The one advantage Live does seem to have is the presentation. I love ESPN atmosphere and I like how each time a player scores, grabs a rebound, or dishes out an assist it shows how much or how many that player has had of that stat in the game. The one knock I have against 2k, as fun as it is, is that the stat overlays do NOT pop up often enough for individual player stats.

I give this Review a 5.0. First off, 2K severs are still messed up, the facial scan works WAY better than 2K, and what, 5 seconds talking about Ultimate Team?? wow... Only comment I agree on is the gameplay. sure, it's lacking behind 2K, but you make it sound like it's unplayable, and you're wrong there. you can box out, you can play Defense. First off, I'm not a huge basketball game fan. I usually buy them every other year. (I've had 2K9, 11, 13, 15, and now 16). The Spike Lee story (which was lame) convinced me to get NBA 2K for the second year in a row, something I always thought was dumb and a waste of money. I can honestly tell you that NBA 2K16 does not play at all 2K15 from my experience. It looks like the same game but it plays entirely different and in a good way. And 2K added so many fan requested things such as being able to change your jersey in MyCareer, and have the Pre and Post game shows in MyCareer, and the new influx of hairstyle that don't have crooked hairlines, etc etc. NBA 2K isn't perfect.There are thing Live outdoes it in, most notably the ESPN presentation, but undoubtedly and undisputedly, NBA 2K16 is a much better game than NBA Live 16.

Can't disagree more with this Review. Live admittedly has always had an Arcade feel, but that was just bad defensive play I saw in this video. Plus I had no input lag from my time with the game. It's still got a long way to go to reach 2K, but I'd give it a 7.0. Some significant improvements were made in this game.

This review is very fanboyish. I've played both 2k and live 16, and live feels way better and looks/plays a lot more smoother. I have no hate to EA or 2k, just live 16 is the better pick for me. Plus, you can't say the defense is terrible when you're terrible at the game, that's just shitty defense on your part. Also, live has good servers, you can tell EA realized they messed up and is actually trying to make it up to the people who appreciate NBA games, instead of 2k straight up copying and pasting from previous years. Plus, you actually have to play to become good in live 16, instead of like everyone who buys 2k and purchases VC to make them better, that's why there is so much hate on live 16, because you can go into 2k and instantly become good, unlike live 16 and work for it. Face it, 2k is the call of duty of NBA games.

I gave it a chance, i was hyped about it. The ball physics are atrocious. The ball is a balloon in when it is shot and hits the rim coming off for a rebound. And a disinflated ball when its a loose ball. No you cant just become good after buying vc. Having a 90 overall player doesnt automatically let you hit shots and know dribble moves and be a great playmaker. How is it copy and paste with the new defense, all the new career additions and also additions for EVERY game mode. 2k will always be superior.

I bought Live 18, and really want to love the game but I have to keep it real. Not much has changed. When is Live going to have that big jump like 2K had from old gen to current with its 2K14. 2K made a huge improvement while Live is making small improvements with each game. 2K didn’t even need to take a year off and still is better while Live constantly keeps taking years off to improve the game but to still fall short. Honestly this review really sells the game short. He reviewed this while basically comparing it to how the 2k gameplay feels.. If you look at it as its own game it feels good to play. As far as defense if you know how to defend then your good, just don't cheese to go for steals and you won't be out of position like he does every single play he tried to show as an example. Other than franchise, live run, ultimate team, and rising star there pretty much isn't much to do otherwise but it honestly is fun to play if you give it a true chance

I feel like EA is a lot closer with this one. IGN pretty much nailed it right on the head with this one. My opinion is that the game isn't bad. If it were the only basketball game on the market, it would be a decent game. But with 2k always bringing great gameplay, we rate it from 0 to 2K. That's just how it is. There's something called feedback. The only thing i kind of agree with you is on Ultimate Team and Rising Star. Live made some strides this year, but the cheese and demigods will keep people rolling back to 2K. Don't get me wrong, 2K has the better basketball game, but they they have enough money from people buying VC ALONE to get better servers.

And it has better pace, organic fluid gameplay. Clubs doesnt play the same type of football compared to fifa. Yeah the presentation and licenses are shite. But pes simulate the game much better.

is it me or is it everytime IGN reviews an NBA Live game their intro always starts out with "Basketball fundamentals ect" what does 2K own a gameplay license cause that always seems to be the issue for EA
