Haven't bought a football game since NCAA 08, but it becomes one of those things like what are you gonna do. I like football, and I want an NFL video game for my PS4. the bottomline is that Madden isn't going to be truly "GREAT" again until they get some competition again. Don't tell me that EA actually tries with these games. Ever since 2005 (madden 06), they've had the entire market for NFL games and without competition (2k), they can mail it in every year and know the game is still going to sell since they're the only game available. The last great Madden was 05, loved that game.

The most annoying is on online play if you beat a few mugs who had no clue how to play it forces you into the hard category with no chance of getting out of there. Once you're playing out of your level it ruins the game. I was good in the medium category but once I beat a bunch of guys who were terrible or got points from guys who left the game early I was forced to play the superstars with no option to leave that division.

IGN, next time please focus on Madden's line play in your future reviews. As it stands, there is still major programming flaws with the lineplay. Please considering looking into how the OL/DL plays next year in your review. As it currently stands, unfortunately, Madden's OL and DL does not realistically represent football. There is still motion shifting and suction blocking by the OL. When the DL gets a proper angle towards the QB, the OL would motion shift to throw a block. There is no true awareness by the DL for the QB. Especially during passing plays, as the QB is 20 feet behind the pocket, the DL continues to engage the OL, rather than being aware that he can take a better angle to get to the QB. As it stands, the DL is essentially programmed to first engage the OL rather than programmed with awareness to rush the QB. If the DL's first instinct is to hit the OL in the numbers, can a true pass rush truly be replicated to allow a pocket to form naturally? The answer is no. The DL needs to be programmed to rush the QB at all cost, and programmed to avoid the OL with any moves possible. The OL needs to be programmed to prevent any object from getting to the backfield. Only THEN, will a real pocket form naturally and organically. And only THEN, can real football begin in the world of Madden. IGN, next time focus on the line play in your review.

I haven't played Madden in years. This one is pretty good (I only play Franchise mode or Exhibition) There are only 2 things I don't like. 1. Slow. It takes too long to get into the game from the time I first put in the game. Loading just takes too long. 2. The last play I just did in game. I could see that the defense was holding so I knew I got a free play. I threw a long pass, which lead to an interception. Now that shouldn't matter because the holding penalty. BUT, the game automatically declined the penalty, giving the opponent posession. WTF!? That is the second time something like this has happened where I just get straight up cheated. So besides the long loading times and the occasional instance of getting messed over, the rest of it is good. Controls are good (Where's the book? I want a reference for the controls. Why do I not know how to stiff arm or spin? Where's the book? What, EA can't afford 1 or 2 sheets of paper to include for $60?)

it doesn't even follow basic NFL rules, if you do an aggressive catch and the receiver comes down with the ball without being touched by a defender, he will not get up and run, he is considered downed in that spot. that isn't NFL rules, that is ncaa rules

For example I had a no name from the Ravens jump 3 feet in the air to then make a Odell catch, get slammed in the back and still hold on to the ball, then did a flip on the defenders back, then with his knees inches from the ground stop him self from hitting the ground with one had and presided to walk in to the endzone.

because the fact of the matter is DS games are really realistic almost to the point like if you were playing outside and when it comes two fumbles they need to be more a little bit more accurate not saying that not but I need to be more because it contains the game and the momentum and when someone gets a cliff fumble and say you're losing 7-3 you gotta clear fumble and then it's really a clear fumble and they still give the ball back to the team that is very frustrating because you lose the game and then they let the team get momentum and then to take to school like three or four touchdowns just from the momentum so I just think when it comes to the fumbles in Madden they need to make it a little bit more strict and make sure that it when somebody actually really fumbles that they remain the ball to the person that fumbled the ball and not return the ball to the other team because it's an amazing momentum change it whenever turn the ball to the other team and that person that I clear fumble

progression is totally broken this yearafter playing entire year, i can raise only 2-3 awareness????forexample, mariota and winston was 79 ovr out of draft. they finishee their rookie season with 81 ovr. then 82 in second year, after fully playing 5 seasons, their rating is like 85 or 86. progression is soooo slow this year . i dont think ea programmed them as busts or mere starters. last year developing players was too easy. this year is opposite

Im glad to see they fixed the passing. Madden 15 was awful. The short pass game was the only reliable thing. The long pass was terrible. It was always under thrown. No matter what. I played with many of the top QBs & i had that problem. No matter if i threw it hard or lobbed it. It was under thrown. Glad to see it changed
