I'm sick & tired of the refs! Either they start calling fouls on those players or get fired! The fouls are plain to see! It's bulls**t! These players are haters! They're so jealous of CC and CC has so much class! She is the pro and all the other haters are rookies if you ask me! They sure don't handle themselves like pros! Stay the course CC! I live in Australia and I’m not a basketball fan, but I have started watching WNBA games because of Caitlyn Clark. From the other side of the world. Just because she is a phenominal player. I know enough to know that Chennedy Carter should have been penalised for that cheap shot. My favourite sport is Rugby and that kind of action will atttract a penalty which costs the team. It could even result in the offending player beiong sent off for ten minutes as well as costing the team through territory or points. It would not be acceptable behaviour at any time and one of the reasons I have not really been interested in Basketball is that such actions do seem to be tolerated far too often. That’s a Refereeing fault that needs to be addressed and an inquiry should have been raised into how that was allowed to slide. Rugby Union, or Rugby League (2 different codes of Rugby) have tribunals that look at such incidents and a repeat offender would find themselves in danger of being banned from the sport for bringing the game into disrepute. Rugby is often called ‘Thugby’ here in Australia by detractors, because it’s a hard game, physically, but if a player shoved an opponent over like that, they’d be in trouble. I understand that Chennedy is disadvantaged by having the name she does, but that doesn’t excuse her taking that out on Caitlyn Clark. She should be talking to her parents about that.

Well said. I grew up watching basketball at my Alma Mater, Univ of Kentucky, repeat NCAA Champions in the 70s and 80s. I know what good basketball looks like. There is canyon-sized gap between the level of excitement CC brings to games versus other WNBA players. I live in Phoenix now and have not been to a single Mercury game in all the years here. I find them boring and there is too much drama in general. Nothing puts me off faster than an ego or bad sport. CC is a no-drama, FINE player with no lip after games. She has a right to be flip sometimes but she doesn’t go there and I have mad respect for that. She is one of the best point guards I’ve seen, make or female. She has great eyes, great hands and makes smart plays. Puts me a little in mind of Kyle Macy, the always icy floor general at Kentucky. Personally I would like to see Diana Taurasi retire. She can’t match that youth anymore so why not hang it up while you still look quasi-good. I will go to a Mercury game when CC comes to town. Maybe Phx can recruit her away from Fever? Sign me up for season tix when that happens!

No worse behavior than that of a jealous petty woman. If you’re so great why you so mad? If you’re so good why resort to playing dirty? It’s a sad look. Be better, level up not down. Great players make you better if you’re smart. Caitlin’s only beginning. Try to keep up and you’ll only get better as well.

I'm not a fan of basketball. No I'm not. But I have started following basketball. And do you know the basketball I'm following? The WNBA. You know why? CAITLIN CLARK! And I'm Nigerian living in Nigeria, so it really shouldn't be any of my business. But you see Caitlin Clark... She's the real deal.

Rookie of the Year is Clark. There is no contest. Caitlin Clark should be in the MVP conversation even. Rookie of the Year is a lock. Caitlin Leaderboards (as of 08/28): #1 Assists #1 Assists per game #1 Points from Assists and Scoring #2 3-Point Field Goals made #3 Free Throw % #7 2-Point Field Goal % #8 Points #10 Points per game Angel can't compete with this list. Look at the numbers below. First is Clark. Second is Reese. Per game: Points 18.0 / 13.5 Assists 8.2 / 1.8 Steals 1.4 / 1.3 Blocks 0.8 / 0.6 Rebounds 5.8 / 12.9 Caitlin has better numbers than Reese. Let's talk about the double-doubles. Obviously, Clark is better on poinr. So look at Assists vs Rebounds. Assists for Clark vs Rebounds for Reese. Assists are harder to get than rebounds. Did you think about it before? You can only get Assists on Offense, but you can get Rebounds on both Offense and Defense. You need two people for an Assist. There has to be a pass, and then that person needs to make a basket. Less than 50% are typically made, so chances are not great. Sometimes, that person who gets the pass from Clark doesn't even take a shot, even if they are open. Also, you can only get one Assist per possession. Rebounds are a stat padding thing. You can get Rebounds after missing a shot. So you get rewarded for missing. Sometimes, you can get multiple Rebounds on the same possession. You can get Rebounds on Offense and Defense. It's a lame stat to compare to an Assist. When people say, "Look at Angel's double-doubles," I just laugh. Angel has 152 Offensive Rebounds to Clark's 12. That's not a good thing. That means you're missing a lot of shots and getting put-backs. Look at the percentage of Offensive to Total rebounds for the following: Reese 40% Wilson 19% Stewart 19% Clark 7% Reese has a lot of Offensive rebounds. Now look at the 2 point shooting percentage, and you can see why. Reese 39% Wilson 53% Stewart 52% Clark 55% Angels 2 point shooting percentage is super low compared to MVP quality players. She gets more Offensive Rebounds opportunities as a result. Even the Sky team 2-pt percentage (45%) is lowest in the league (tie with the Dream.) Liberty is the best at 52%. Then look at shooting percentage. Clark vs Reese. 2 pt 55% / 40% 3 pt 33% / 18% FT 90% / 74% Not even close. Clark is a much better shooter. Clark has a more complete skill set: -Ball Handler -Passer -Shooter -Runs the break/Outlet passes -Primary ball handler Clark is a better all-around player. She is always dangerous when she has the ball. She will catch you sleeping. She can attack the basket by driving hard. She can pass the ball to a teammate for an open look. She can shoot it from anywhere on the court. Foul her, and she is money from the charity stripe. She plays baseline to baseline. Intangibles. Clark's exciting play draws fans into the arena. The Fever leads league attendance. Their away games also sell out. League attendance is up 156%. TV viewership is up 300%. Clark's has the #1 selling jersey, and we all know the 2nd place jersey (Reese) isn't even close. The WNBA fly chartered flights for all regular season games this year for the first time. They signed new partner and TV deals. ESPN will be paying almost 7 times the money per year. This is the Clark effect. They're trying hard to make it seem like Reese is the reason for the increase in WNBA interest along with Clark, but it's not. People go to see Clark's Offense. The passing and shooting. I already explained how below average Reese is in shooting. She doesn't shoot 3's. Not exciting. Clark is a unicorn. She is one of one. Who in the league passes like Clark? Who can shoot logo 3's? Fall asleep, and Clark will make you pay. On top of that, she has a good demeanor on the court. Kids relate to Clark. They want to be her. I never heard of a kid wanting to be a rebounder. They all want to be scorers. They want to be ball facilitators. These false narratives about ROTY being a contested race are bogus. Clark has already won the award. and it's not even close. It's Clark and only Clark, if you're objective.
