That Mourning shot fascinates me, both because of what a great moment it is in Hornets history and how good a young team they were right then, and also because it was the end of the classic Celtics of the 80s.

Great Plays From The Classic Charlotte Hornets Teams At Number 1 That Was A Incredible Game Winner Alonzo Mourning Made He Just Falls Backward And Raises His Arms Now That Was Legendary NBA Stuff!
@MrLynksys10002 жыл бұрын
Technically wasn't the end of the game. Shot clock keeper got distracted by it and forgot to stop the clock lol. Ended up with .4 on the shot clock for Celtics to inbound. Dee Brown went to slam it off the inbound pass from McHale and Kendall Gill blocked it backwards (and depending on who you ask goaltended).

@nathanmasters795210 жыл бұрын
***** The first Jazz team was called NO Jazz in 1974-1979 then they moved to Utah and became Utah Jazz 1979-Present, you're thinking of the NOLA hornets who only joined the league in 2002 after moving from Charlotte, Both different teams(Jazz and Hornets/Pelicans) the NOLA Jazz finished in 1979

exactly, better than half of these plays, the way he jumped so high, above the rim, a rare kind of the dunk.

The no. 6 dunk is a classic I was looking for for ages on the internet... finally. But sadly without the other announcer! "Baby bring down the house!" - "He needs not to jump that high!" :)) Anyone got that to put in on youtube? I agree about the Ricky Davis tip dunk missing here though.

Matt Johnson TJ Ford tried to Box him out and you can't expect Baron say/do "I am not going to compete with the rebound because you have a surgically repaired spine" ... If only that ball went in I say it's JR Smith's fault for not making that 3
@isawrooka410 жыл бұрын
Gabe Karl That's fine and dandy, but he wasn't fighting for the rebound. It was a horrible cheap shot and you're delusional if you can't see that.
@elliotchoi923910 жыл бұрын
Gabe Karl Baron Davis had already shoved Ford before the three even hit the rim. So no, it wasnt JR smiths fault.
@isawrooka410 жыл бұрын
Gabe Karl LMFAO. So because JR missed a shot that even the greatest shooters in history only hit 40-45% of the time it's his fault? You're a special kind of stupid.

The original Charlotte Hornets had great players over the years, if they could have kept them together and the hornets were not relocated, they could have built a champion contender team for years, my all time favorite original hornets 1. Alonzo Mourning (c) 2. Larry Johnson (pf) 3. Glenn Rice (sf) 4. Kendall Gill (sg) 5. Muggsy Bogues (pg) 6. Matt Geiger (c) 7. Anthony Mason + (pf) 8. Jamal Mashburn (sf) 9. Dell Curry (sg) 10. David Wesley (pg) 11. Vlade Divac (c) 12. Elden Campell (pf) 13. Bobby Phills + (sg) 14. Rex Chapman (sg) 15. Baron Davis (pg)
