Ngl missing on high risk is so annoying when you see mfs make whites that all these different shot profiles was a bad addition to the game. Too many variable and inconsistency’s good player can lose to randoms bc they make whites while you miss on high risk, but also you can blow them up if the GAME decides to not let them make any. And don’t even get me started on the rec AI doing contested go to shots and front fades from 3 greening but 99 3 pointers with legend shooting badges can’t break 50%

I switch from high risk to normal risk and it’s works significantly better for me. 50% REC Over 50% Proving Grounds Shoot cue push The most important thing is to have have good jumpshot base, to now your animation and when to release. Set shot specialist helps me for catch and shoot Shifty shooter for middis

I’ve got a 7 footer with a 80 3 pointer and 87 mid range. I’ve been using normal. It’s working better for me because I don’t need to hit multiple shots in a row. I tried high risk and I couldn’t hit water if I fell out of a boat. With layups and dunks I and a good shot every now and then, I can usually put up 10 to 20 points almost every game. Yesterday I hit a game winning 3 pointer in the last seconds. Once I start to get more consistent, I might switch to high risk.

I’m a pretty good shooter for a casual and normal risk is perfect. You get nearly as many greens as high risk and some whites will go in. My build has 85 mid and 79 3 and I went 4/4 from 3 last night. Also had a game going 2/5 so normal is really nice for the stats my player has

If they want more realistic gameplay, the unfortunately HAVE to implement some kind of RNG element in the shooting. What NBA player shoots 65% from 3 like players literally were doing in 2k22? So either we get arcade gameplay where guys can shoot 65% from 3, or they artificially make us miss 3s even with perfect shot timing. It’s a difficult thing to balance. IMO they should just go arcade because it’s really stupid to make the game miss for you.

For me, if 2klabs video is right, normal risk reward having at most a 60% make rate even if you time it perfectly is just not enough. Worst part then is that the shot feedback will lie to you and tell you slightly early / late, and that will keep messing up your timing trying to adjust. It will just build bad habits because you can't know if it missed because you actually mistimed it, or because it doesn't have a true green window

In past years I shot with the meter on always, and in that case you could see how far off you actually were, and if it was a full white bar that missed anyways you would know to not change your timing. But the meters are so trash this year that I'm finally learning to shoot without it, but I miss the more detailed feedback

The math isn't mathing bro. This basically shows regardless you should use normal risk. I shot 70% last year, and right now with about 5games in rec I'm shooting about 58%. I haven't made 1 white and I'm using high risk. But I've seen people make multiple whites I'm assuming they're using normal risk or lower. So, theoretically I have a higher chance of making shots when my timing is slightly off if I switch to normal risk. As I don't release my shot perfect every single time, no one does.

The thing is the latency always changes between game modes and it sucks so hard. Last year I didn't have any problems with latency, no matter where i went. The rec the park and theater went flawlessly, but now the rec has this huge latency and i find myself missing like a mf but when i go to the theater i barely miss.....2k needs to fix this immediately! 😤😤😤

I may sound crazy but low risk is waaaay more realistic than high risk. There’s no reason at all u should be missing wide open mid range shots with players like kd, LeBron and Luka. It’s real life, if you play smart and take high percentage shots, you get the shot. High risk is for 2k followers that master everyone’s release. You can green literally any contested shot as long as u perfect the release and that’s low key boosie in my humble opinion

Judging by your previous test on 3pt value, I'd estimate you were using an ~88 rating? I definitely think you're on the right track by recommending a break even point with how well you shoot (really good idea), we just need to establish what that point is. I think in combination with that 3pt Rating Test video you did, the blueprint for deciding what someone should be choosing is there somewhere.

No matter what badges or ratings you have, it will all come down to your make % that's the best way to make it fool proof. For your example, If you have 25 3 ball, then let's assume you shoot 21% only at high risk because of the slim green window. If you use my table it means you'll better off using NR to get it to 40%. Now let's say for some reasons even you have 99 and you only make 21% on high risk. Even your green window is big It means your shot inputs are scattered all over the place and so it's much better for you to use Normal risk to utilized those scattered inputs to be whites. So it will all come down to make%. It's a fool proof metric. Even I spend 5x hours on putting it on different ratings, we still don't know what badges, hotzones, takeovers, distance, skill boost, etc.each players has. At the end of the day, these are all smart estimations. I appreciate your enthusiasm on asking!

@@nba2ktutes I think we agree, but there might be a slight misunderstanding. Your previous video on "3PT Best Value" shows that shooting success on Normal Risk is dependant on your attributes. At Normal Risk and a 25 3pt rating you are not going to make 55% of your shots. From the chart, my guess is you used something around 86-88? So a person can't necessarily just use 55% as a blanket threshold for determining which Risk Profile to use; it becomes dependant on player attributes. Which is I think why people are asking. That said, I don't think it's necessary to test all attribute levels either! I think you already gathered the baseline data needed to make an educated extrapolation. If you take the "3PT Best Value" video you made, the chart already shows your approximate make percentage for each attribute level on Normal Risk. Therefore, if you play at High Risk you can align your MyPlayer attributes with the graph, and see if your make percentages sit above or below that line. If you're below, switch to Normal Risk. If you're above, keep it at High Risk. So if you combined the info from these two videos, you essentially have the thing people are looking for. Not trying to argue, just an idea! Thanks for all your great work!

Do you think high-risk could be less (or possibly more) effective for lower 3pt builds (under 85ish) or do you think each shot profile gives the same “boost” no matter the shot rating? Like for example if high risk gave you a %5 bigger green window for 99 3pt is that %5 boost worth it for someone with a 75 3pt or is high-risk not as effective for lower ratings since a %5 boost to a small green window isn’t as significant? To add to this, basically is it possible that high-risk adds a fixed amount of green window to every rating (like 50ms bigger or whatever number that could be) or could it be a % boost and the high-risk benefit scales more with the base-level green window? Like if someone with a 100ms window and someone with a 80ms window both turn on high-risk, do they both get a fixed +10ms or do they get +5%? (I’m using random numbers ofc) because depending on how they do it, high-risk might not be as effective for higher/lower ratings and it’s possible that the boost isn’t worth it depending on your build

Is it possible for you to test rhythm shooting with normal and high risk profiles? I ask because the shooting boost with rhythm shooting is so huge that you can hit half-court greens, even with a very low 3-pointer. If you use a normal risk profile with rhythm shooting, you hit more whites. So, I wonder if it's better to use rhythm shooting with high or normal risk.
