In Nova Scotia, Canada, the government gave residents $250 to begin repairs, seniors got $250 on top of $750, and residents received $150 to make up for spoiled food.

Why would they “never think something like this would happen?” You live in a hurricane state

If you noticed that the cider block home is still standing behind him……I wouldn’t ever feel safe in a trailer, especially in Florida.

I'm 52 years old, born and raised in Lee county. I've wondered my whole life why people would live in a mobile home, here. When people started coming down here in droves, after the interstate came through Lee co, is when they started appearing. Popping up like weeds. A lot of people have been really lucky and some of those mobile homes have lasted a really long time with little or no damage, but everybody knew it would just take one good hurricane and that's it. I feel really bad for these people. It has to be hard to have your house literally wiped away and I really hope they recover quickly, but they should have taken a hint when Irma came through. That was their warning.

In the Midwest Mobile homes are considered tornado magnets. It seems they are not fond of hurricanes either but we all knew that

Some are just vacation trailers. To build back might be way to expensive. If they own the lot they could sell and move inland

These people lived there for over 20 years. I’d ride my bike pass this mobile park wishing I could live in just an ideal spot. Nobody has a right to say this would happen. It wasn’t suppose to happen but it did. I hope they can put their Modular’s park back, I definitely would ! If you saw what it was like you would too.

Almost moved to Florida, glad I stayed in cold snowy new England, even with the worst snow storm, my house is still standing. I feel bad for all these people, no where to go.

This is a rarity. I;m lived here my whole life, 52 years, never had severe damage. Irma and Ian literally went right over my house. Took some damage, but nothing that I would cry over. Just a little annoying. What scares me are the things that come with little or no warning. Tornadoes, earthquakes, flash floods, landslides. Those are scary. Black ice is no joke, either. I;m happy to live with hurricanes. I have a sturdy house that 10 miles inland and about 16 feet above sea level. I have no worries.
