If the police don't ask you any incriminating questions, they don't have to read you Miranda rights. However, anything you volunteer can and will be used against you in the court of law Lol. In this case, a traffic violation is not cause for Miranda rights, he was observed breaking traffic laws and would of been issued a citation if it weren't for an active warrant. Likewise, Miranda rights aren't required if you have a warrant, they're simply fulfilling the warrant for your arrest, they're not investigating if a crime was committed, they're fulfilling a court order. My ex was arrested for the same stupid reason.. a bench warrant for a traffic citation in which she failed to pay or appear in court. In her case, she was issued a citation, moved/changed address and forgot about the citation until 2 years later when she got pulled over again for another traffic violation an was booked into custody for a bench warrant.
