Simon understood how difficult it is to be told to sing another song you are not familiar with. As a singer myself, another language u are not familiar with is almost impossible, Dian nailed it.

Yeah, it's obvious that he wasn't used to singing in English. At least, for a song that he knows in Spanish at first but has to learn its English version in one night. Even a song that you know by heart would feel like a different song in another language.

That didn't even sound like the same person between the first and the second audition. Goes to show you that the judges are pros for a reason. Simon wasn't hearing anything special on the first one and called him out kindly. The second one was waaaaaay better. No body would have heard THAT in the first one. Whew!
