Very very smart moves. Ventroloquism is pretty niche and sure, she probably sold out some shows with all the attention from AGT, but once the show effect wears off, people often forget about niche artists

Good for her!!! She was so young when she won with ventriloquism, that was who she was then. She's grown up and is being who she is now. How many 19 year olds are the same person they were at 12? How many WANT to be the same person they were at 12? We grow up for a reason. Darcy was born with a gift and if we go back and watch her original audition for AGT she tells how shy she was and how the puppets brought her out of her shell.... she now has the confidence to go out and follow her heart and pursue her dreams! Whether or not they truly like her, they know the reason she is on the show, why people like her, and what she is going to be hearing all of her life. Simon, at least years ago, I really appreciated because he always said things that were on point and simply realistic. And I think he's being realistic now. Does that mean he's not supporting her? I don't think so. I think the best form of support sometimes is expressing what needs to be heard. Darci is doing a good job of punching herself out of a box she's made for herself, and she is going to face commentary about it. It's better for her to not go uncontested instead of all sunshine and rainbows over it.

Do you know what hurts more than the truth? Failing because you weren't told the truth. The truth is, she is a fantastic ventriloquist, one of the best. As a vocalist without being a ventriloquist, she is good at best. Not great. Maybe her most loyal fans will go to see her sing, but not neary as many who would go see her play with puppets. But, she should do what makes her happy for sure.

And the nice thing is, she doesn't actually have to choose. She even proved it with her previous act. She can add in some ventriloquism, whether in song, in jokes/talk between songs, or both. If a current star walked out adding a puppet to their act, ppl would assume that it was prerecorded or that someone else was voicing the puppet offstage. Darcy has shown her stuff. She can mix and match for a concert if she wants, but shouldn't have to :) (I'm agreeing btw... in fact, Im pretty sure she kinda tried that for her holiday concerts awhile back)

I mean seriously think about it. Darci just dropped her music video for this song. She has already won AGT. She's gotten to maybe her peak in ventriloquism. If she didn't win this fantasy thing it really wouldn't matter much. On the other side, with the dropping of the music video this was a perfect choice to get eyes on that and to help her in her own career. She wants to sing. She has to branch out and make it as a singer and then with credibility as both a singer and a ventriloquist she can mix and match the talents as much as she wants.

The Fantasy League competition was about bringing back the best of the best in the talent that each contestant performed previously on AGT. That's why the judges wanted Darci to do full fledged ventriloquism as she had done before. They should have praised her for a spectacular performance, but if you noticed they all were smiling at times and all the judges applauded her at the end.

I feel a little bad for Ms. Darci Lynn. She tried something very brave, an original song. It was her first attempt at performing an original song on such a big stage for a national audience. And she happened to do it on the same night as Chapel Hart did their original. Chapel Hart is AMAZING and they have a lot of experience over Ms. Lynn. Their song is world-class and radio-worthy. But, they've got a few more years of experience on Darci. It was SO brave of her to go out there and try to break out as an original artist. The timing was really bad. Chapel Hart unfortunately went on after her and showed such a stark difference on a different level. Don't give up, Ms. Darci. You're still very young. The world is impressed, regardless. Hang in there. ❤

I agree with the judges in that she came on stage under the umbrella of being a ventriloquist. Her singing is great but step out under the reality you are going to sing.

I was curious how far she got and I think she deserved more. she did great. no idea who the other contestants were but she was really good. anyway, just wanted to say that I think she deserved to go through to the next one. I hope she will get a carriere as singer as well, she deserves it, well done younglady

I have to agree with what Mel B is saying. She should’ve come back to a normal season singing, this particular season was to bring back acts that the audience fell in love with. Obviously, I also understand her point of view, she wants to show she has more things to offer, it’s very understandable.
