We tried the prohibition from 1920 to 1933 Needless to say, it didn't work, in fact it arguably made things worse by enabling organized violence not unlike the illegal drug trade of today. This is so scary. I went to visit my mom in her hometown. And we went to Panera bread to eat and after we left this guy came up behind us and kept ramming my mom’s car. My 87 year old granddaddy was in the car. The guy also hit several other people on the way past us. He got off by claiming it was medical. I call BS nothing looked wrong with that man. And he didn’t leave in the ambulance. My mom had to pay for her own damage. She couldn’t close her trunk. We weren’t hurt but could have been. He also hit other people after pushing us off the road. His rage ended right by a school with children at the playground. Progressive got him out of it. Lawyers would only help if we had injuries. The insurance company handled it as a driving w/o insurance claim.
