Panama was never US property, the canal zone area was in a 100 year lease to the US for it's use and allowed the US to build a canal there and maintain it. The lease ended in 1999.

This may seem like a thing to Americans but it is not, and Canadians aren't laughing even if it is a joke. You may not realize this but a poll showed 87% of Canadians do not want amalgamation. Let us be frank, most of that 87% are prepared to resist in whatever way they can. The President Elect and by association people touting this are pushing North America, the greatest partnership the world has ever seen, towards something that may look more like the middle east or Northern Ireland of the 1970s. There is also folks I have talked to that mention joining the EU, I kid you not. I am Canadian, I live in Canada, soon everyone I talk to lives in Canada. The only ones that I have ever talked to that think it would be cool to live in the US are guys that think they will be able to drive around with their rifle in the back window of their truck. Think about that. Think about life in NA now....think about life in the Middle East now...think, just think!
