A new report claims DNA testing could be the source of these new people of interest in the case. NBC News has not independently verified the reports but a statement received from JonBenét's father said there is new leadership at the Boulder Police Department and he is impressed with their commitment to finding his daughter's murderer.

Some things that always perplexed me about this case. 1. Why was a ransom note written for a child that hadn't been kidnapped?, She never left the home! 2. If there was no kidnapping why write a ransom note? 3. If it was a stranger who did this, how come they felt comfortable enough to walk around the house while people are sleeping, find a notebook on a desk and take the time to write a lengthy ransom note when someone could have woken up and found them? 4. Most people don't go around telling strangers how much money they received from a Christmas bonus. Why was such a personal detail included in the "ransom note". The note also revealed a personal detail about John Ramsay's personality saying "use that Southern good sense of yours". A complete stranger would never write that! 5. The so called ransom note asking for $118,000 to get a wealthy man's 6 year old daughter back alive? Why not 1 million or more? Instead the writer asked for the exact amount of John Ramsay's Christmas bonus. I really pray this case is solved someday soon!

Some of those points can be explained but the Xmas bonus always bothered me. There are only so many people who would have that information. What also bothered me was that there was only ONE cop in the home. I couldn't believe they didn't secure the house for any evidence that an intruder would leave. Instead they had all their friends and family come over to hang out. Unreal. They were waiting for the kidnapper to call at the specified time in the letter and police did not even acknowledge when the time came and went. You would think they would have hooked up a recorder device or had a hostage negotiator. This was all before john found Jon benet.

what I have never understood is that the "note" was found on the stairs?? Who would leave a ransom note on the stairs? Also, as has previously been brought up, why was $118,000 asked for? That was the exact amount of JonBenet's Father's bonus. Why not a million or more. Why that amount? Also, the Colorado police really blew this case. They let JonBenet's Father into the house when the house should have been off limits to everyone, hence all the finger prints everywhere. What a mess!
@mattw7780

Are you sure the killer knew she was dead. Yeah, probably but he could have kidnapped her and both of them in the house in the basement. I have always believed that the father or brother killed Jon Bennett Ramsey. The mother may or may not have been involved with writing the ransom letter. The police allowed the crime scene to be compromised by the father and evidence wasn't properly collected. The chances of the ransom note being written by an outsider is highly unlikely because how would they know to put the amount at $ 118,000 instead of say $ 150,000 ?? How many kidnapers write a ransom note at the victim's house and then instead of kidnapping the child decides to murder them on the property ? How did the father know to go down in the basement ahead of the police ? What about a psychological test on the father, brother, and mother ? Did any of the beauty pageants parents know Jon- Bennett and would they know where she lived ? The beauty pageants can be highly stressful and perhaps a jealous parent didn't like the Ramsey's family ? What about the possibility of a suspicious male walking around the pageants unescorted and checking out the young girls ? Have any of the other girls said anything about maybe receiving threats or unwarranted looks by unknown male's ? What is the truth about Jon Bennett and her autopsy report ? Was there any evidence of long term abuse in the physical sense or in the other way ?

@reneeraw6927 It was an insider who was behind it but she was not a Ramsey. It was Linda Pugh,the housekeeper,who had the means, the motive, and with help from her "crew" wound up getting JB killed. It was not Pugh's intention. She wanted to get the money out of the in ground safe in the same room where she'd taken Christmas trees from and the same room where Jonbenet's body was found. She had the key, knew the Ramsey's schedule, knew the house completely and she wanted money. She enlisted the help of several others but they knew when Patsy called the Police (They were right below where that call was made) that the kidnapping attempt had failed. There was a bat found outside the back door which was ajar. The bat had the same gray fibers on it as the basement's rug.

What kidnapper returns the pen and paper to the desk from where he took it inside the Ramsey home? We're supposed to believe a kidnapper was considerate enough to return the items to the desk in a kind gesture then turned around and murdered a 6 year old? Why did John and Patsy lie when they said Burke slept thru the night? That lie was uncovered when the 911 call was enhanced. Was there actually something new in this report? I didn’t hear it. If the parents didn’t write the ransom note, then they knew who did. This person wasn’t just comfortable enough to spend the time writing a multi-page ransom note. There were actually crumbled-up practice pages in the garbage! And who goes into a stranger’s house, apparently with the intent of violating this poor little girl, brings nothing with them and finds exactly what they need, including plenty of time and no concern of getting caught? Here’s my theory: Her older brother accidentally killed her with a heavy object while they were playing, either that or he did it on purpose and since their parents loved both their children, they chose to cover up the accidental death by (poorly) staging it as a kidnapping The fact that the letter was written in her mothers handwriting, the details that the supposed kidnapper(s) knew that only the Ramsey family would know. And the crime scene itself was just so sketch. And to top it all off, I believe the father paid off law enforcement bc anybody with a brain can see how sketch this situation is I’m leaving out a lot of details and stuff but that’s the basics and nobody can convince me that it wasn’t a staged event

Seemed to enjoy fake acting for socialite attention. Patsy probably was told by her hubby, she wasn't going to get this years money money. Was there an investigation into how Patsy or John handled their finances? So, no bonus money and it's Christmas, and Patsy needs to socialize but can't bring her kids, her family with her? So, she arranged her daughter to be sold by someone she knew and hiding in the house, or house key. And how much did Patsy make off a probably insurance money claim? Did anyone track of an insurance policy money was released and how it was spent?

A: Yes. They were not stupid. "They arguably would not have written such a long note.” Wolf v Ramsey Decision at 1361. Q: DID PATSY KNOW THE SIMILAR QUOTES AND REFERENCES TO DIALOGUE FROM HOLLYWOOD MOVIES AS THOSE USED IN THE RANSOM NOTE? A: No. Patsy did not like or watch that genre of film such as from the Movies: "Ransom" and "Dirty Harry." prosecutorspodcast.files.wordpress.com/2020/07/ramsey-v.-cbs-complaint-with-exhibits-reduced-size.pdf Q: WOULD JOHN/PATSY HAVE BEEN AWARE THAT USING HER OWN NOTEPAD AND THE AMOUNT OF JOHN'S '95 CHRISTMAS BONUS TEND TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THEY WROTE IT? a: Yes. They were not stupid. Q: WOULD JOHN/PATSY HAVE USED A LARGER RANSOM DEMAND AMOUNT? A: Yes. The $118 K was a ridiculously small amount and she or John would have risked nothing to make it much more if they wrote it themselves. They would have known they did not have to pay one red cent if there were no real kidnappers. Q: DO EXPERTS IN HANDWRITING THINK THE NOTE'S WRITING MATCHED JOHN'S OR PATSY'S? kgov.com/jonbenet-ramsey-murder-clue-that-breaks... A: No. Of the six experts the authorities hired who were cited at the Wolf v Ramsey Trial John was excluded and Patsy had a "VERY LOW'' PROBABILITY. "The Ransom Note, according to six experts hired by the BPD, they placed Mrs. Ramsey at a 4.5 or a 4.0. (SMF ¶ 203; PSMF ¶ 203.) The experts *1335 described the chance of Mrs. Ramsey being the author of the Ransom Note as "very low." (SMF ¶ 204; PSMF ¶ 204.) law.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/FSupp2/253/1323/2567726/ Q. WHO HAD HANDWRITING MORE LIKE THE RANSOM NOTE'S THAN PATSY DID? A: Chris Wolf. See for yourself: imgur.com/r/JonBenet/8Ha6H4C "Forensic document examiner Lloyd Cunningham cannot eliminate plaintiff(Wolf) as the author of the Ransom Note. (SMF ¶ 279; PSMF ¶ 279.) Plaintiff's ex-girlfriend has also testified she believes that he is the note's author. (J. Brungardt Aff. ¶ 43.) Carnes Report Q: HOW COULD THE RANSOM NOTE LOOK SO MUCH LIKE PATSY'S HANDWRITING AND EXPRESSIONS IF IT WAS NOT WRITTEN BY PATSY? A: THE POLICE FOUND IDENTICAL NOTEPADS AND PENS AT PUGH'S WHICH WERE TAKEN FROM PATSY'S HOUSE. The BPD went to Linda Pugh's the same day they'd found the lifeless body of poor JonBenet. At the Pugh's they found identical pads and pens as Patsy's. Turns out Pugh had "borrowed them." Q: WHO HAD SAMPLES OF PATSY'S HANDWRITING WOLF COULD HAVE USED TO PRACTICE HER STYLE? A: Linda Pugh did. "The Death of an Innocent." by Linda Pugh: "One of the ways in which Patsy Ramsey would communicate with me was through handwritten notes, which she would leave for me with instructions for various duties around the house that needed my attention. In the fourteen month period that I worked for the Ramseys, I was left several dozen handwritten notes by Patsy Ramsey. I am quite familiar with her handwriting, and I believe I can recognize it with very little difficulty. By way of example, Patsy made her letter "a"s very distinctively, and she would use accents over words like JonBenet and attaché, and often used initialing of words in combination, to name just a few of her many unique handwriting characteristics. Because I once felt very close to Patsy Ramsey, and regarded her with almost as much affection as a member of my immediate family, it has been hard for me to admit that I am now certain that the handwriting in the ransom note looks to me as if it was made by one and the same person. The handwriting and language of the note were all yours. I can hear your "voice" in the note. The word "hence," for example, was in your Christmas cards and letters and a word you liked to use in conversation. The phrase "use that good Southern common sense" is what you kidded John about, since he was anything but Southern, having been born and raised in Michigan; the phrase "fat cat" is what your mother, Nedra, used to call you after you and John became rich. The ransom demand asked that the money be put in an attaché, with a proper accent mark over the last e in attaché. I remember how careful you always were to put the proper accent mark over the e in the second syllable of JonBenet's name. The ransom note even ended with the initials SBTC." www.reddit.com/.../linda_hoffmanpugh_started_to.../ Q: WHO HAD ARTICLES OF CLOTHING WITH SBTC ON THEM? A: Chris Wolf (sweatshirt from Santa Barbara Tennis Club) and Michael Helgoth. (hat found near his dead body, source unknown.) Q:WHO KNEW WHERE PATSY KEPT HER NOTEPAD AND PEN? A: Linda Pugh. She had complete run of the house while the Ramsey's were in NYC over Thanksgiving vacation. Q: WHO KNEW WHAT PATSY DID SOON AFTER GETTING UP? A: Linda Pugh knew Patsy used the back spiral stairs to go down and make coffee and that is why the ransom note was left there. Q: HOW COULD PUGH AND WOLF HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER? A: Both knew Santa Bill. Pugh and her daughter Ariana attended every party when Santa Bill came. Wolf first denied under oath at his deposition for the Wolf v Ramsey Trial that he knew Professor William McGovern AKA Santa Bill. However he had to retract that when he was shown the copy of a letter from the Colorado U. Journalism Dept. assigning him to McGovern.

I'm sick to death if all you 'true crime enthusiasts' being like "well they didn't cry enough" or "omg the crying was so fake". Guilt or no guilt using someone's tv or public apperance as evidence of guilt is beyond flimsy. We aren't even considering not everyone uses crying as a grief mechanism. If you truely take intrest in psychology then do proper research before using body language and social cues as admissions of guilt. I'm not even going to state my opinion or theory I think there are many possibilities that could have happened that includes the families involvement I'm not denying it's possible. But if you use either point you mentioned it's all heresay and nothing but speculative. What credit does this neighbor have? How well did they actually know them? We also must consider how much the media has influenced people's opinion on this case with the many false reports and misleading articles. Your theory is just a theory and I hope you do some research and realize not crying means nothing. Them not crying in public, on camera, or even at all is no indication of guilt. Even if it was the son as your theory suggests they probably would still grieve for their daughter even if protecting their son. Have your theories just don't use stupid points as support for it.

Something was so suss about how this case was handled from the start ,by the police and coroner .The parents should never been aloud to wander about the house and removing the childs body from the original place she was found, this tamping with the body caused more problems.,and through focus on them as suspects ,which hinded the case .

What is the hold up he’s in prison they should have his DNA so what is the problem. It’s already been established through the creepy letters that this man was overly infatuated with her. It’s so disturbing the letters that the friend has put out. So what is the problem and what is taking so long. It’s been long enough of a botched investigation just focusing on the parents. I tend to agree because of what Dr Henry Lee and Dr Werner Spitz said. That 1) The case could be solved and 2) It was someone inside the house, likely Burke. There is something off about him, he put feces in her bed ! They got him his own lawyer, and Patsy wrote the ransom note. That's what I beIieve. But who knows for sure. I just won't rest until she gets justice and we know the truth. Poor girl ❤

It wasn't a family member. Dna evidence have proved this. The dna under her fingernails and in her underwear belonged to a stranger and matched no family member. What's more is a mere 5 mile drive from the Ramsey home mere months later another little girl was assaulted at night in her bed by a stranger. The mother caught him but he escaped. The little girls even knew eacjother and preformed in local shows together. Despite all the similarities the police refused to investigate a link between the cases

What we do know: The suspect knew the layout of the Ramsey home Kidnapping premise was a set up to mislead(by killer?) Suspect knew some of the father's personality traits Suspect knew father got a bonus and knew the amount Suspect knew the Ramsey family schedule for that day I know this isn't all of the info known so please feel free to fill in gaps but my point is this isn't a stranger on stranger crime. Do not misunderstand this to mean I am pointing a finger at a family member. I honestly do not know who to point at but stranger danger isn't it.

The problem with this case there was not enough physical evidence left behind to use to work the crime. I know, I know the police bumbled it and let things get moved and touched etc .. but in most crimes, they can find enough even microscopic evidence to work with. This was a perfect crime whether it was well planned, or it happened by freak accident that no evidence was left behind. The only thing anybody can do is make conjecture but have no real evidence to back up their claims.

that guy is effed up due to being traumatized. Think about all the losses he has experienced: his half sister Beth is killed in a car accident. probably doesn't remember her but was affected by her death due to the impact to the family; his mother is diagnosed with cancer; his sister is murdered in their home; his mother gets cancer again; his grandmother dies; his mother dies.
