The growing trend by local businesses to let customers pay what they can, which gained popularity especially during the pandemic, helps people who might be struggling to make ends meet. NBC New York’s Adam Kuperstein reports.

If people didn’t socialism would work… afraid this is just going to be proof it does not… contrary to what most people think communism is based on the narrative people are good at heart and capitalism is based on the premise people are naturally at least at some level self serving

Some people who can afford it actually pay more because of his generosity. Lord, your word says to give and it shall be given back to you in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom. May your word reign true in his life. I want to work for the truck guy. Good hearted bosses that remain unchanged at the core from life are rare but oh so needed and appreciated. I'd die for a boss like that.

It may seem like a crazy concept but our gourmet grilled cheese food place charges $9 for just the sandwich and they are on texas toast. 40% of that more that covers the cost of cheese, bread and anything else they put on it. I would expect this guy's prices are higher since he is in a bigger city and using better bread but in the end 40% covers the cost and then some. He is most certainly loosing profit per sandwich but if that concept doubled or tripled his sales he is as good if not better off for it.

@@thetahedgecapital1008 I find that the richer they are the divide between cheap and generous becomes more extreme. People are philanthropic by nature but nurture beats it out of them.
