This scene destroyed me. Benny's final act was to not only save Boden's career (for now) but to make sure his son knew how proud he was of him and acknowledge that Boden was the one who turned Kelly into the firefighter he is. Crying even typing that. This is the Benny I loved in seasons 1 - 4. A man who despite his troubles loved his son fiercely.

The look on Boden's face when Severide breaks down is sad in itself, he's torn between being his boss and keeping it professional and being his friend and giving him a hug. Taylor Kinney really pulls these scenes out the bag! Brilliant x

They delivered each line with emotion and depth. Character development is what makes a good show that draws audiences into raw emotions. They truly are a family. This scene made me cry because I too lost my father and he died alone. The background music made this scene come together beautifully

His father finally redeemed himself for Kelly. I hope that Kelly won't hang on to the guilt he feels over the dysfunctional relationship he had with his father, he needs all the love and support he can get, from his girlfriend Stella, from Matt, from Boden, from his Mom, and from his sister Katie.

Poor Kelly, his been through so much, the fact his still standing after everything he has endured losing Shay, losing Anna and now his father is a testament to how strong he is. Most people would have given up by now but not Severide with every tragedy his has suffered his come through it stronger than he was before it. Feel so bad for him though, would like to have reached into the tv, wrapped him in my arms and never let go.

Disagree. It's what makes this show so good. No other show is as realistic when it comes to life stories. It shows the ups and downs, and that people have bad years (seasons) not just days (episodes).

As a fire fighter myself... re-signed volunteer firefighter... that's what the show is about not sitting around hanging out at Molly's it's a show about saving lives...sorry fire fighters go through hell on the job sorry the producers have the right story line not only is a hit show it also refects our lives as fire fighters...I lost my baby brother not only in uniform but in my blood line in L.O.D.D which is line of duty death he was only 18 yrs old when he died...sorry it's depressing...sorry that's the life of a fire fighter alot of depressing things... It's a Life someone has to do... guess you couldn't do it like other's like myself... that's why fire fighters and cops medics Drs nurses all are sudpectible to Post traumatic stress disorder... maybe the producers are sick and tired of people making remarks like that bring awareness to the dangers of fire fighters we have emotions too like you do

This scene... Those scenes when doctor told him about Benny and in hospital and in Chappell.... and in the moment when Boden told him that Benny helped them was the hardest to watch, and those words about Kelly shows him how much his father loved him and how he was proud of him.. and in that moment Kelly understood and the worst thing is his guilt about how their last talk went. He couldn't deal with this, because it's hard for him to talk about his feelings. That's why he pushed Stella away, because his sadness and guilt was so big and so hard to deal with that talking about it and going through it was too much, so he tried to deal with this on his own way... I don't think he did it... It's still in him... Looking at him so broken and in such ocean of sadness broke my heart, destroyed my heart ripped it out from my chest.😪😢.. All I was think of was that I wish I could be there to hold him in my arms, tell him that his father loved him so much and that he forgave him. It was in his eyes when he said "goodbye Kelly" ... Just hold him in my arms pour all love on him he deserves. 😍❤️ BTW... Taylor is brilliant actor.. He did it just perfectly.. Bloody brilliant... Kudos.
