Tbf, she had partial amnesia and was under the belief she was engaged to someone. And before this, they faced issues with their marriage. She tried so hard to get answers out of him before their wedding day, and then when he came back from witness protection then started carrying a gun around for safety, this inevitably ended in their break up. Honestly, both went through a lot and need time away from each other.

It hurts when the people you love hurt you and it comes down ultimately to deciding to continue or not. He did the right thing. I think he still love Natalie but it’s like he said they are not good for each other. He lied and hid things from her and any time something happened between them she would ask for a break or just completely break things off instead of talking about it so they can try work it out. A relationship shouldn’t be built on constantly hurting each other. So good for Will. Instead of getting depressed that they were no longer together he took the time to really analyze what he and Natalie had and decided it was best for both of them to be over with for good.

Natalie walked out from Will's life when he needed her there the most. He was going through difficult times and made clear that wanted her there, that would get commited with therapy, but instead of supporting him, she decided to feel sorry for a strange and make out with him leaving the man who she was on the verge of getting married to behind. I know Will has his flaws and sometimes is overbearing and even sexist (when accuses her of being emotional when he is 10x more emotional than her), but it doesn't take more than one day for he realises his mistakes and apologizes, plus he ALWAYS had been there for her, even when they weren't together anymore, and everything she did was disdain of him. It took a while for she allows Will be part of Owen's life (and that I understand, you don't have to introduce people to your child before the thing gets really serious, but it took 2 weeks for her allows Phillip TAKES CARE of the boy. Really, Natalie?). Everything Will wanted was her well-being but she kept kicking him out from her life, and when she said to him to get out of her life, he realised that it would be exactly what he should do, how running after her was making him miserable and stopping him of being happy and free. I like both and want they find their ways and back together at some point already in this season, but now it was exactly what she deserved.
