@@Michelle-fz7wm I called the national dog show and they said that for whatever reason the entered dog didn’t show up, maybe the dog was sick, owner was sick, etc. There aren’t backup dogs. (I was surprised there aren’t backups.)

I love the national dog shows…and animal shows etc… I have a Pit Terrier and a 4 month old Cocker Spaniel and they are too human acting and spoiled and very well taken care of. His call name is Conor. Shown by Breeder Owner Beth Vanderslous. His sire's call name is Wyatt, who won at the best of breed breed at the bloodhound specialty a few years ago. Conor is the spitting image of his sire Wyatt.

Which hound dog? They are all hounds. Some are sight hounds. The rest are scent hounds. The bloodhound is a scent hound.

I used to actively be involved in the NY show. Basenji rarely if ever show or win. The 'exotic' looking dogs are what the judges and people favor.

Ibizan hounds (fondly known as "Beezers") come in two coat varieties: smooth and wire haired, with wire being less common. :)

That Deerhound handler wasn't messing around. Are they all so stern? I have an Irish Wolfhound, if you have ever wanted a dog that is great with kids and people this is that dog. She has learned not to chase my cats, and it has been a pleasure to own one.

I always watch for the hound group. Years ago I used to show my 2 Afghan Hounds. This breed never makes it in the group because the breeders forgot to read the standard and have ruined most of the front action. This apricot Afghan Hound was not too bad, but had inadequate front action while the all the action was in the back legs. And the topline was screwy. So this is the best Afghan... Ug. That's why I stopped. Did like most of the Judges picks.
