It's incredible that Hines is mentally okay after a career like he had. He wasn't just a normal Wide Receiver he absolutely smashed people on blocks and probably took 3X the damage a normal receiver takes.

A Rebel With A Cause you have to understand as a ravens fan hines ward smile was the most intimidating smile ever I never wanted to punch a man in the face so bad lol that’s what made the rivalry great the intimidation the toughness trash talk the hate everything. I was a Ravens fan and when these guys matched up it was a must watch game every single time.

These are my favorite rivalries. The Ravens and Steelers didn't like each other, but definitely had all the respect in the world for each other. Hopefully Hines one day joins Ed Reed in the HOF. He deserves it.

Live in baltimore but never been a true ravens fan. But one thing i can say, the ravens vs steelers was the greatest team rivalries I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing in my lifetime. i have my uncle to blame for that, he would always be watching the ravens play and he would religiously cheer them on as if he was right there at the game. So lucky to have grown up in this era to watch this battle. As a Steelers fan, you get goosebumps thinking about the intensity that Steelers/Ravens had. Growing up you saw the Ravens having Joe Flacco, Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Hoali Ngata, Anquon Boldin, and Ray Rice to name a few. The Steelers with Big Ben, Hines Ward, James Harrison, Troy Polamalu, Heath Miller, Antonio Brown and many more. Now it continues today, hoping these guys like TJ Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Devin Bush, Lamar Jackson, Marlon Humphrey can help continue what has been the leagues best rivalry.

Words cant explain how intense that rivalry got. Records did not matter at all. For a good while it was without question the best rivalry in sports. You will never find a more excited game where 20 points was considered a high score. Usually it was the first team to 14 wins. Usually always decided on 1 or 2 big plays half the time scored by the defense.

That game was always the hardest hitting in the NFL and they played at least 2 times a year and sometimes in the playoffs. Reed and Ward were responsible for some hellacious ones back in the day. Back when you could actually hit someone with bad intentions.

AFC North: Browns on the Lake, Browns on the River, ex-Browns on the Coast, the Pittsburgh Steelers (and Chuck Noll played for Paul Brown). Dad grew up in Windber, PA, a long suffering Steeler fan. I grew up outside Cleveland and became a Steeler fan Noll’s 1st year for familial harmony ... and my health (Thanks, Pop!). My perfect season would be Steelers undefeated, Browns with 2 losses, Bengals with 4, Ravens with none ... but regardless, Steelers-Ravens games are the best.

I'm a die hard Steelers fan. Hines was the all time king of hitting players when they weren't looking. Back then many just thought he was making good blocks and that defenders needed to have their heads on a swivel. If he did that today players would be lining up to fight him.
