So while I was on Vacation I had a friend of mine I work with hit me up to do some work on his Silverado. The first thing he wanted was for me to remove the Chrome trim on the entire truck. He also wanted me to replace the headlight housing and license plate lights. I told him if I was doing all this he need to order some led headlight bulbs like I put in my Tahoe. I installed all the new led bulbs and also wrapped his bowtie in vinyl and put a short antenna on. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think....

@@TWAMotorsports Most "Everyone" (I've seen anyway) drops these old trucks...I'm headed to Ernie's muffler right now to have him put dual exhausts on my 6 cylinder. 2 turbo style mufflers, flowmasters and magnaflow sound like outboard motors in upper rpms...yuck! Turbos only on 6 cylinders...Thrush or Xtreme!!!

I love the updated look. I might have something that he may like or even yourself but it worked for my 2003 NBS. When you get LEDs, they have the new led headlights that fit like factory. The ones I got are from SealLight. I would suggest them to anyone. And I’d use a bit of silicone on the o rings on the bulbs on the back side to help from having condensation build up inside of the headlights and corner lights. If anything I hope it helps someone.

That helped me before and it does work. I just seen that silicone helps out a lot better. I’m glad your buddy did make a change on the truck, well you because you are doing the work. Man love your channel and I’ll keep following it. Maybe I can learn a thing or two from here.

*It's the little touches that can make a big difference. 2010 Ford Explorer 4X4 V8 XLT: I swapped out the original grille for an all black grille. I added a bug shield. I switched to LEDs for the fog lights. I installed brand new OEM taillights and swapped the backup light with LEDs. 5% tint on all the back windows and 35% in the front. I updated the exhaust with a flowmaster muffler and a single tip dumping behind the driver side rear wheel.* @camaronado

Travis, To help soften the adhesive especially on a cold day you should try using a space heater on the trim ahead of the one you are working on. That will help soften the adhesive as you work on another.

Great Info!, Curious what size antenna you put on? I hate the stock size, as it always hits the garage as I pull it in. On a side note, he should have you put in some factory fog lights. I did that with mine. All you need are the housings and the switch on the dash. All the factory wiring is there already. Hardest part is cutting the hole out of the bumper and bolting them in. But well worth it. And I took mine a step further and installed the all lights on Mod. It turns on all of the lights on when you flip on the high beams.

I like the truck! There’s definitely potential. It’s too bad the friend couldn’t come hang out with you while you were doing all of that. I know everyone has there bits to add about things but I think I’d change out the door handles for some paint matched ones. If the budget allowed I’d get a paint matched grill and paint match the top of the bumper (the black part). Do you know how to paint that textured black plastic so that it doesn’t chip?

Are you able to run leds in all the headlights without it tripping anything out? I had put some leds in my taillights and it made them blink super fast

@@Haze8923 You can. Head lights, high beams, and running lights can simply be switched out. Turn signals and tail lights will cause hyperflash without a resistor though. You can get around using resistors by switching out the flasher module under the dash. Easier than wiring up resistors in my opinion.

@@TWAMotorsports a good thing to do to help is reseal the perimeter and drill an 1/8 inch hole in the bottom for moister to escape. As for the yellowing sand and reclear them. Or just buy quality lights. Which is expensive. AMD no one makes good parklights. They ALL leak.
