Hi! I am canadian and today I am reading “A Single Tread” novel by Marie Bostwick. The narrative richly detailed by author is about New Bern. Motivated to find out more about New Bern, I search online and now it is included on my travel wish list. What an extraordinary historical beauty!

Baron Christopher DeGraffenried was my 8th great grandfather. I’ve always wondered if the Baron had any contact with his son Anton Tscharner DeGraffenried who stayed behind in North Carolina?

Christoph von Graffenried sounds like an interesting fellow. I wonder why the American branch of the family changed the spelling to French.
