NC State Baseball Sweeps the Raleigh Regional - Onto the Super Regionals | NC State Podcast

Entering NCAA Baseball Regional Weekend, it looked like perhaps one of the most balanced Regionals in the Country would be held in Raleigh, NC. After the dust had settled on Sunday night, it was NC State in dominating fashion. Defeating Bryant, South Carolina and James Madison, the Wolfpack never felt out of complete control of their destiny.

Tenn will travel extremely well and half of the NC mtns cheers for them too. It's the same a little less distance to Charlotte from knoxville. Tenn will be a huge challenge. Can we beat them YES. We need to travel well to this one and show the heck up!!

I think the JMU game cannot be duplicated here on out. We had bases loaded multiple times and came up empty. We should have walked Mancini the second time at bat. UGA is a different animal. Walk Condon if necessary. I don’t think we can take any strikes looking early in the count. Batting needs to be aggressive. They get one down the middle and the rest will paint the strike square usually low and outside which are harder to hit. SEC coaches will pull a starter in a heartbeat if 2 or 3 runs are earned in the first couple of innings. Whatever is in the bullpen could even be worse. Ask the dirty foot club in the first game against LSU. Hoping to break serve in the 5th or 6th inning on a starter should not be the game plan. Anything in the tournament at this point is here because both starters and relievers are good. Don’t hope for high pitch counts to get hitters going. As far as the Gamecocks’ fans comments on our “high school park”. The lack of facilities is one reason why Ray Tanner left NCSU and headed to Columbia where he is the AD. Looks like he just fired their coach who brought their team to Raleigh. Avent has done just fine. He has built a consistent winning program, facilities have improved and will get better. It doesn’t happen overnight. We are in good hands with our current AD. In football, the break on the pool table clearly shows us with a great chance to run the table. You both are absolutely right. Anything less than a 10 win season is unacceptable. Let’em give us a preseason predicted low finish in the ACC. I see something comparable to basketball as the end result.

I think NC State football is gonna surprise everyone. I’ve watched multiple podcast that are already ruling Tennessee over NC state an easy win and have them looking past that game. They forget Joly alone gave them a fit last season WITHOUT a team around him. Yep, they’re sleeping on Raleighwood.
