@Waffle SS I mean he's really good but Alexander in his middle 20's already have 2 olympic medals. Brock has a pretty good genetic he is obviously a mesomorph but Alexander was (for me) the most intimidating man alive. He used to grab 260-270-280-290 lbs men and suplex them in the air.

@Waffle SS Oh sorry. My point was that this fight is too close and Brock was equal as his opponent. I'm triying to not being a fanboy of Karelin but he was really impressive and imponent in his prime (and now too) So the fight between him and Brock would be amazing to see but Karelin already has better opponents like Hector Millan. @@rev.chuckshingledecker MMA was certainly not paying as much back then as WWE. But by 2010, he would have been making millions per fight. (and he did when he fought) So like 2-3 mil a year, for maybe 1 or two fights, vs countless appearances on WWE's program for whatever it is he made there. Nowadays, he'd probably be getting like at least 5 mil per fight when including a percentage of the gate and pay-per-view buys . Maybe more. What does he make in WWE recently? Maybe 5 mil per YEAR, and it's like a full time job. But my original comment was more geared to towards the fans, and the sport, rather than Brock himself. In the early 2000s WWE was certainly a better paying gig than UFC for someone like him.

@@James-qu6ul His WWE contracts are pretty tight-lipped about the money, but he is certainly the top paid guy there, and since he has leveraged UFC possibilities against WWE I am certain he is make 3-5 million a year. He hasn't been full-time in WWE in 5 years. Until this year (2022) he was making maybe 6-8 appearances a year. It looks like he's on TV every week this year, but it looks like he is having fun from what I've seen on KZbin clips. I certainly can appreciate how fans wanted to see more of him in UFC if he had went right into it (and later not almost died from diverticulitis). It must seem like what if Mike Tyson hadn't started until he was 28. So for the fans, yeah I understand the idea of what might have been.

Basically it's two points for a takedown, two points for a reversal, and one point for an opponent penalty or an escape. At the end of a period there's a coin flip, with the winner choosing the up or down position to start. If you get your opponent down to his back and press both shoulder blades to the mat, it's a pin and the match automatically ends.

Iowa and Minnesota still seem to be the 2 best states for wrestling. I'd hope that continues and maybe add Pennsylvania there. Maybe Wisconsin as well.

Guys like him were the reason I had to give up wrestling in high school. I wasn't quick enough to drop weight and wrestle in a lighter class, and no matter how much time I spent lifting weights I wasn't strong enough to take on guys like this who wpent all summer bailing hay, doing farm work 10-14 hours a day, haha. But I could out run guys like him on the football field!

He would be the G.O.A.T of the UFC forever if he had trained out of university or earlier in mma. Not just heavyweight, he would be the GSP or Silva x10. He was pretty sick with operable diverticulitis as champ too which diminished him a lot. Imagine a healthy Brock with his wrestling pedigree, training intense high-level MMA at 12 yrs of age......
@barrettokarate Жыл бұрын
And he'd likely be broke. MMA fighters complain about their pay today, imagine it back in the early 2000s. During Chuck Liddell's prime he was reportedly the first and only fighter at the time to make a million bucks. Since them only Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor have joined Liddell in the million dollar club. Could he have been the UFC's version of a super human Fedor? Yes. But he likely wouldn't have made as many millions as he has and continues to make. Money has always been a big motivator for Lesnar.
