With a healthy lee, this kid wouldn't have seen the end of the 2nd round. Still 7-0 in national championship match is an ass kicking. Im not taking anything away from the Arizona kid, because he absolutely deserves, and belongs there. Lee is just a different animal. His level is way above college wrestling.

Nah. He just isn't taking the time (1 year) to shoot down. His 4 NCAA championship goal. The surgery itself is commonplace and takes 2 hours now. It's the healing time.

With his exceptional combination of ability, skill, technique, strength, and attitude Spencer has proven that he can wrestle aggressively and dominate at the highest level rather than be neutralized by strong defense and attack/counter attack strategies. As a wrestling relic from 50 years ago, I never believed dominance with such flair at this level was possible - till now.

Spencer lee usually isn’t super great in the 3rd period as he does a lot of his work in the 1st period. He’s been that way for a while and that’s partially how desanto beat him in highschool. Kept it close and took it to the 3rd, then got after it

@@justins5756 I believe he had only one torn ACL but I could be wrong. He tore the other one two years ago in the championship match. Basically in the Olympics in the trials if you lose your done. Just like the NCAA championship there are seedlings in each brackets and it goes all the way down to the winner of the bracket is the one who qualifies. Freestyle is a little bit different than folk style though. With a torn ACL it’s gonna be hard because shooting and takedowns are so important

I think he no doubt deserves his place in the top five for Iowa Hawkeye wrestlers, but can he top it off with 4 NCAA titles? Or will it be Gable and Owings all over again? Only time will tell
