Y’all say they dance but it’s material being played with the dancing. I be hella confused because folks will legit ignore the chops just to say they dancing like they not doing both lmao. A&T style is one of a kind I fucks with it.

It’s crazy to me that people are hating on A&T for doing their job😂. Like y’all do realize there are people their that don’t understand what’s being played. Yes it’s a drumline battle, but not a competition battle where your winning a trophy. It’s a entertainment battle. The majority of the crowd is going to pick the side that entertained them the most. Now if this battle was judged, then there can be a legitimate argument. I also think that at this point y’all saying they dirty but don’t really understand how they play their material. At the end of the day, if y’all don’t like A&T anymore, then just say that. Central has had a phenomenal year. I love it and I’m all for it. But some of y’all’s statements about A&T is just flat out crazy. If you don’t like A&T just say that. Y’all see the dancing and that’s all y’all pay attention to.

NCAT movements always 🔥 and goes well with the pieces they are playing. I am noticing when more drumlines try to implement movement or stick tricks they tend to drop their sticks. Cold Steel has that on lock.
@justjay07 Жыл бұрын
It’s more to it than that an you know it. And it’s not hate. We appreciate the entertainment but if you can’t do the MAIN thing better (skillfully play the drum) then you can’t have the swag like you the best at playing the drum.
@redsteeldrumline3270 Жыл бұрын
@@justjay07 So your saying that they didn’t play anything complex. You heard no technicality. No hybrid rudiment combinations. And if we being honest, y’all keep saying they “dancing” when majority of the time the only section that was dancing was the tenors and rightfully so cuz that’s what they known for. Everything else I saw was mainly different formations and patterns. I only saw the whole line dance like twice. This is what I’m talking about. Y’all SEE what they doing and not LISTENING
@itsvenises2520 Жыл бұрын
@@justjay07 dude cold steel can chop it up. They have performed at some of the highest level for drumming because of their drumming skill. Yes I agree with you it takes more than movement and cold steel has proven themselves with their skillful drumming.

I think what this is about that percussion les have to learn how to work your 6 senses. A line can chip all day but if the crowd isn’t moved by 1 line but the other then at the end of the day they will go with what worked their senses. But if you’re looking from a percussion stand point y’all/we know what to look for. Both lines did their thing. I was very impressed with D.O.A tbh

Good battle fasho, but coldsteel took this just by a bit, they kept it more entertaining and groovy. Don’t get me wrong, there shouldn’t just be dancing all the time but the difference is that cold steel is different and entertaining. Everything isn’t just about chops. It goes in all of grooviness, unique, choppy, clean, dynamic changes, and togetherness as a whole. But all in all, coldsteel took that💯🤷🏾♂️

Oh so your a fan of dancing. Majorette competitions may be a better suited place for A&T’s material. They danced the entire time in a face to face drum line battle. The material from NCCU may be throwing you off because it was more complex and way more advanced. The simplicity of A&T probably caught your eye.

With the material chosen DOA was objectively cleaner even when you factor in the stick drop…. My problem for DOA was the excessive count offs for DOA… it kinda messed with the overall flow of the battle and interrupted the momentum established in cadences When I gave adjudicator scores that I use for clinics It was CS 81.3/100 and DOA 85.6/100
