If Amado is Shibai, another route I just thought of is that maybe Shibai grew tired of his omnipotent existence and decided to downgrade himself to experience life as it was meant to be experienced. In doing so, he experienced all of the emotions that he once cast aside. His daughter meant everything to him but without the powers that he cast aside, he was unable to bring her back. Anyways, one thing that bothers me about Boruto is that the writer(s) completely ignore that the afterlife undeniably exists. This is shown multiple times throughout Naruto - all of the Edo Tensei, Hagoromo returning to speak to Naruto and Sasuke, Rin pulling both Kakashi and Obito to help in the battle against Kaguya, Obito returning after death to help Kakashi, etc. They really couldn't just tell Amado that his daughter's spirit is in the afterlife?

you know why? theres no daughter of amado. if you go with the theory and shibai can alter peoples memory then what ada wouldve seen is/was an altered memory/fabrication of a fake daughter. thing is you will still have to ask why would shibai be on earth, probably shibai is still in search for more power and theres is maybe something on earth that he seeks, maybe boruto's eye, maybe what will happen to the ten tails that code altered. who knows but my believe whether this is true or not remains at 40%. I would find it rather interesting if Shibai, being likely far older than any of the Otsutsuki we’ve met so far, hails from a different age where the Otsutsuki Clan walked a different path; leading him to disapprove of something about their current methods. He doesn’t need to be a good guy or anything, but he could’ve given Amado a Karma marking so that Amado would have access to his knowledge, and would thus become a massive stumbling block for the Otsutsuki, all in an attempt to change their path to something Shibai likes better. This would make Amado effectively a prophet of this god, and would also tie in with the alternative theory of Amado being more like the peasant being given information. This could even have Shibai steering the Otsutsuki into a direct battle with Earth instead of sneaking around like pansies, as he might perceive it. 🤣

My theory is actually pretty close to this. Amado obviously knows a lot more than he lets on. I'm guessing he communicates directly with Shibai even if Shibai is vague about what he actually wants. So Amado is doing what he thinks Shibai once while also trying to get his daughter back. Or he's an Otstustuki. Which is what I thought until the daughter stuff came in.

These are some very compelling theories. I think it makes sense that Amado either does personally know Shibai, or that he's working with Shibai's lower. It is odd I've never heard anyone talk about his lower before. His lower could be trying to ascend like Shibai, but in a much faster way by using bits of Shibai. Or maybe he's trying to bring him back for a specific reason. I really can't wait to see how it pans out, and I really wish Kishimoto had continued to write Boruto all the way through

My guess is that Shibai exists simultaneously in both his own dimension and through a karma put on Amado that even Amado himself doesn't know (he could alter his memories with omnipotence anytime) and he truly wishes to be with his daughter or maybe his duo partner in his own dimension, but for that he needs that person to be strong enough and have all the power he used to have when he ascended, so he gives Amado all the tools he needs to "bring back his daughter" but in fact it'll be Shibai's partner and with Shibai's power she too will join him in another dimension. Maybe Shibai feeds upon the Ten Tails or creates Ten Tails out of pure nature energy in the hope that every other Otsutsuki could eventually join him as a God. Or maybe the Ten Tails has a deeper connection to Shibai, that would be interesting considering Boruto knows the true horrors of Ten Tails.

Nick, what if Amado IS actually the lower-ranking Otsutsuki of Shibai. Maybe He was fed to the ten tails and placed a karma marking on the current body he had, or as you pointed out, the way Isshiki's method worked. And thus he has a much more grandous plan hiding behind the one about his daughter (something like Black Zetsu did). I can't think of how his method works, though. It can be that he needs to connect his karma with one of the higher-ranking Otsutsuki, to be reborn as higher-ranking one, and he uses Shibais DNA very masterfully. Idk, but something like that. And surely Code's karma also has a relation to that.

What if Shibai also had a daughter that died? That could be a link to or a parallel with Amado that would be a good explanation for why he's getting involved in things. Maybe he ascended and found out later that she died and somehow incarnated into the mortal world again to bring her back, or she died and his ascension was interrupted or ruined and he's trying to bring her back or fix it. Would be hilarious if it's Kaguya who was Shibai's daughter, but I can't remember any other female Ootsustuki off the top of my head? Amado isn't shibai. If you look read properly, and see the holes. You'll notice that shibai needed another otsutsuki to ascend to godhood. That other otsutsuki is Amado. If shibai kept eating Chakra fruits. Amado wouldn't gain any power, but knowledge. 1. Knows too much about the otsutsuki for a mortal 2. Has seen shibai's corpse 3. Somehow created eida and Daemon, and knew exactly what. Weaknesses and all. "Accidentally" guessed that shibai ascended 😒yea right he was probably there to witness it.

I feel like the reason shibai will be brought into the story is through someone uncovering his physical body and using it for mal intent. That seems to be the reoccurring theme of the Naruto/boruto universe.

As a long time Boruto fan I've seen countless theory's, and is one of the main reasons I fell in love with the series via the theory's you can come up with within the story. Alot of theory's though people have come up with are more like assumptions meaning they have little to no evidence to back them up. I've theorized about Amado not being Human and having deceived both Isshiki/Jigen and Konoha as of now. One of my theorys ---->( Amado's backstory and how he wants too revive his dead daughter is a good story too deceive others. Amado was a scientist at Kara and was even able to make a backup copy of the Karma even though there is a boot system implanted in the karma so multiple copies and PERSONALITIES dont exist so there is no cloning Etc... He implanted the DNA of his "Dead daughter" into Kawakis karma so he could revive her somehow. After he said this i became very on guard about this guy. He was able too create cyborgs stronger than jigen and have access too Shibai's DNA, seems sketchy right? He also is very intelligent and acts almost like he knows what will happen. I believe there's 2 possible goals he has, the One i believe the most is that he Is using Kawaki and is slowly brainwashing him too do as he says, so Amado would be able to acquire the powers of Shibai. The Other Possible Goal is that He was Manipulating Isshiki all this time and is somehow a rival Alien species to the Ohtsutsuki. it would be great writing if that were the case due too his intelligence, access too Shibais Dna . He looks odd when he talks too shikamaru and even when the realities changed he looks unaffected. ALMOST like he knew this was going too happen and that he planned for this too happen. If he did plan this and if he did deceive Isshiki than i would NOT be surprised if he was an alien species that rivals the Ohtsutsuki and who WANTS too Destroy the Ohtsutsuki which is why Kawaki suddenly has this change of Heart when he got the Karma again (his EXTREME views on Ohtsutsuki out of no where and killing his brother to protect Naruto, I also believe Naruto or shikamaru in the code vs kawaki vs boruto battle stated Kawaki looked to be turning into a 2nd Isshiki . ) I came up with this theory last year and by looking at what you've said, it makes me think that the part of Amado being a deceiver and not being human AKA an Ohtsutsuki or another alien race becomes more likely. Kishimoto has been cooking up straight 10/10 chapters recently so if this turns out to be true i wouldn't be surprised.

It would also be fitting that when amado, sorry dont know how to write that name, gets revealed that he is shibai he is basically dead because everyone now knows that he is not that universal level threat. Shibai just fits because of the dog Shiba Inu, as in the telltale the man got eaten by a dog.

One thought that jumps out at me is if he would either be Shibai or even just be part Otsutsuki in some form, wouldn't he have been immune to omnipotence? And if he is so wouldn't that make the scene where he questions his memories strange. Which would mean that he either would need to have faked all of that or he did it as partially a fake for the readers and partially in order to tell Shikamaru about it meaning he would have known about the bug. So if that is the case what is he planning by letting Shikamaru know that there are others who questions their memories along with there being a valid reason to do so.

Hopefully there’s an all-powerful Otsuski that gets revealed who has the power to literally neutralize ninjutsu and genjutsu across the world so that everyone reverts to simple transformation jutsu and Genin-level taijutsu so that things can get interesting again. As long as that Otsuski lives, all ninjustu and genjutsu is pretty much banished until the protags can defeat them.

He's definitely hiding his true intentions. We've seen that he is a very methodical and knowledgeable man. He's able to plan several steps ahead of those he is deceiving, manipulating them the do exactly what he wants. He was even able to earn Isshiki's praise when he forced Isshiki to reincarnate in Jigens body and simultaneously remove Kawakis Kāma. He could be motivated by his own agenda or he could be working for someone else, it's hard to say at this point.

I mean, we all know that Amado's REAL identity is Hayao Miyazaki. Just look at that beard! But for real, I like both the original theory and your own take an equal amount. Karma is the measure by which a soul is weighed during reincarnation (as I understand it), and if one accumulates enough of it they may reincarnate to a higher plane just like Shibai did. But reincarnating to a higher plane is not the same as reaching enlightenment; you are still bound to the cycle of reincarnation, not free of it. It's entirely possible that Shibai failed to achieve enlightenment in his higher plane and reincarnated back into ours due to a lack of Karma. Equally possible is that Shibai created an avatar for himself to protect his earthly body; namely, Amado, who may or may not be aware of this. Or perhaps Shibai's whole arc is that his pursuit of power and knowledge lead him to learn that the best life one can live is to love and protect one's family, and so he chose to give up his godly status to reincarnate as a mortal and have a family, and only is interacting with the Otsutsuki at all because his daughter died and he hasn't learned how to detach himself yet. Regardless, I find it interesting that "shibai" means "a theatre play" and "amado" means "shutters," which could refer to the shutters of a film camera? And Amado's last name "Sanzu" is a reference to the Sanzu River (the River of Three Crossings), which is a bhuddist parallel to the River Styx in Greek Mythology that separates the land of the living from the land of the dead. That could either be a reference to how Amado is separated by death from his daughter, and is trying to bridge the gap to bring her back, or it could be a reference to his nature as a karma-marked individual for either Shibai or his partner, being a bridge for them or Shibai's power to cross back into this world.

A couple ideas to beat daemons ability 1. Maybe it works like gojos infinity which pull a toji get him tired and sneak him and try to kill him in one hit 2. If his ability is based on intent what if your action and intent contradict one another and his ability activates example you punch daemon but you intend to hug him or something does it set off his ability?
