I have taken a few courses with NCI and I will agree the pricing/sales structure can be really daunting and hard to deal with. but the experience within NCI has been great. I have learned alot of things both nutrition and business related from the courses and within the community.

Ya the course itself was pretty good tbh. The way they handle the other stuff is pretty annoying. I definitely think being a part of the community could be big though, especially for an online coach/trainer.

I took some of NCI’s courses and agree with your review fully. Good info but very snakey honestly. Would love to see a review on N1 Education! I thought their courses were some of the best I’ve ever taken

I 100% agree that their consultation call was very sketch and very pushy. I was so close to investing until other people told me the amount wasn’t worth it! I watch a lot of your videos and love your reviews/content. I would like to see a review on NPE Fitness as I am currently enrolled in their program now!

I am the founder and CEO of NCI - and would love to address this video First - I am appreciative of this channel - I believe in programs needing to be evaluated That said - after watching this video, I am left to believe that what was evaluated was the sales process - NOT THE ACTUAL CERTIFICATION NCI has always been very direct that the science of nutrition has no variety - effectively we are teaching the same science as PN, ACE, ISSA, and any others in the space... The difference is in APPLICATION (which you do mention in this video, but you don't review) We also pride ourselves on COMMUNITY - which is briefly touched on, but not reviewed I will address what you did seem to take issue with - which is our sales model I do find irony, that your purchase decision came down to you buying not only the Level 1, but also sales school - if you didnt like what you were going through, why buy it?....but I digress The value stack you were shown, was just that - a VALUE STACK A tool that many companies use, and one that is meant to help consumers understand the value of the decision they are making WHY do we do this? SIMPLE - we know that NCI has the tools to take consumers to the next level, we are obligated to help them understand that this decision can 100% move them forward....IF AND ONLY IF, they take action on themselves So yes - freely admitted, you saw a value stack Now let's move to the Black Friday sale... My assumption is that many things were sold on Black Friday that were less than what previous consumers paid...should they be upset that they previously spent more to have access to the product sooner? I'll let you decide that... Speaking with complete candor, our black friday deal was the lowest price we have ever published - and from a marketing standpoint, it was a test of a price point - if that's bad, then label me horrible Ultimately I believe this video should be retitled "a review of NCIs sales process", because in no way does it accurately depict a review of the program Best of luck with the channel, I'm happy to openly discuss any of this further

Hey Jason, thanks for watching! When I review a course, I review everything involved with that course. I mainly focus on how useful I think the course would be for the average trainer, and then I factor things like cost, ease of access, and other things like that into the score. This is a review of the entire NCI level one applied nutritional coach course, and all that comes with that. Like I said in the video, this is a good course, a B in my opinion, that is somewhat overshadowed by the sales process and cost. As far as your course is concerned, the science of nutrition, actual coaching, and the community, are all things that I think NCI has going for it. All of these things were talked about in the video, and this course would have absolutely scored lower if not for all of that. As far as your sales school course is concerned, a few things on that: 1. I wouldn’t assume that your entire company handles sales exactly like your sales person did in this video example here. I’m sure that you guys have more to offer than that. I also wouldn’t assume that your course focuses solely on making the actual sale as opposed to teaching people how to create a program that sells, as well as the entire sales process. 2. I review courses on this channel. If the course isn’t great, whatever, it doesn’t have a big impact on me personally. I just tell it like it is, and move onto to the next one. No one’s labeling you horrible, but this is an accurate depiction of this course/experience in my opinion.

@@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation I agree with @jasonphillips4973 you definitely did a quick overview of the NCI program but focused more on the sales tactics and not enough on what their foundation actually is structured on. Also you didn’t speak on the fact that they are probably the only level 1 certification training that teaches client & business development. Personally your video doesn’t affect me in any way but this one here gets a C- Best of luck to your channel and I appreciate your time on making these reviews.

As a newly certified NASM CPT, is it valuable to get a PN certification right away or wait to see if CPT is going to be successful? One thought about right away, is when I get, hopefully, busy with CPT will I have time to take the courses. And having a nutrition certification might help me to be more employable from the start. On the other hand, if I turn out to not be a very good CPT then the extra expense for PN cert might be a waste of time & money. Thanks as always for your informational videos!

I always recommend getting hands on experience after getting certified. Wait a year or two before doing any CEC’s. Unfortunately, most courses aren’t as useful as they should be.

as the owner of NCI, I can tell you that having a nutrition cert will certainly help show your passion when applying for jobs, but most gyms do not have a nutrition coaching program in place so it won't help you "on the job"....that being said, results should always be your calling card - so if you feel that helping your clients with nutrition will help them achieve better results (which we know it will), it probably make sense at some point - just my $.02

I Felt the same way with ISSA. This is the reason I didn't go forth with the training. They felt extremely pushy and it began to feel like they were getting desperate for my business. He gave me the curriculum on a test basis to see if I would like the material before committing. When I decided I didn't want to the guy I was dealing with got very upset. When I spoke to precision Nutrition the guy was very genuine , honest and helpful. He told me to take my time on decidiing and he also flat out answered my question. The question was do I technically even need a certification in order to be a NUTRITIONIST.? He told me technically no you dont but it will make your clients feel better. I didn't take the course yet but I am actually considering doing so. And for the reasons mentioned above when I do decide I will probably go with precision nutrition . Who are you certified through? and is it your main occupation? Do you find that your certification was necessary if you in fact do have one?

I’ve done many nutrition certs since I review them. I’m in the process of completing NASM. I’ve already done PN, ISSA and NCI. So far I think PN is the best but I’ll have a full video comparing them all soon!

I have a passion and love for fitness and I really want to focus on my passion. But I am currently suffering from analysis paralysis, there’s so many different certifications out there I’m not sure where to begin I am very interested in joe defrankos certification I love his content just not sure if that’s one to start out with. I’m not really planning on working in a big box gym I really wanna focus on being an online coach/trainer. What would be the best first steps for me and which courses would be best for me? I can tell you have a lot of passion for lifting, and fitness in general! That’s definitely the first step! I don’t think you necessarily need to start in a big box gym, but you should definitely get certified and train some people in-person clients before you go online. Training actual clients is pretty different from training yourself and it will make you a way better coach when you do eventually go online. I know it may not be what you want to hear, but getting certified through a company like NASM, or ACE, and then getting some experience will end up being the best thing for you.

They offer a course. How useful is it? Tbh, I don’t know. I haven’t gone through it yet. After going through this one, I’m not sure I’ll cover the business one on this channel.

or it's a process to make sure you actually get what you need...if you knew what the graduation rate was in our industry, you would be astounded - we choose to make sure that people are the right fit before coming into our programs (but yes, our sales team is commissioned - as are the rest of the companies)
