We just got back from a 10-day Caribbean cruise on the Joy in the Haven. We loved the private Haven places like the sundeck (adults only), pool, observation lounge, bar and restaurant. The staff is magnificent, the food and drink delicious and the entire experience is unforgettable. We are already planning our next Haven trip because we cannot imagine going any other way!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m so glad to hear you loved the Haven as much as we did. It truly is a fantastic escape! We also have ours booked for next year on Escape out of NY. This would be our third time on this ship. We love it but we will be missing the Haven Observation Lounge, since the Escape doesn't have it.

We just booked our next cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line on Norwegian Escape Haven class out of Miami! My kids are now counting the days and I am counting our $$ we save daily by being frugal and spend wisely so my kids are having something amazing to look forward to and for all of us to have a vacation filled with happy memories. This is what life is about!

Great video with excellent commentary. I have been a long time NCL passenger dating back to the late 1980s and the SS Norway. I have stayed in the Haven previously (Gem, etc.,,) and will again in a few weeks on the Joy. Happy Journey to you and your family.

It is my favorite ship so far, not too small, not too big, lots of things to do for my teens and everyone else. Good food and great atmosphere. Going back on Escape 10 day cruise out of New York next August. I am sad that they took away Joy sailing out of NY but I will still enjoy! Hope you already booked your next one... ☺

Did they have a major type of Broadway production show on the main stage or was it just smaller shows?

Hi there, they had few smaller shows for almost every night of the week, but they also had the main show which last season when we sailed was FOOTLOOSE, with a very talented cast. We got this show twice in a row, for two different cruises because they considered this show being very successful and kept it for a little longer. I had a chat with the Cruise Director and he mentioned that the Footloose broadway show will be replace potentially with THE CHOIR OF MEN, similar scale production and live musicians or Wheel Of Fortune?!?!. Still in the air. Hopefully that will be as good as others. I still think the time they use to have The Jean Ann Ryan Production Company, If anyone remembers them, those were the absolute best shows! If you are going on any NCL cruise, make the most of it and enjoy! It's about having fun and building life long lasting memories!! Let me know how it went!

Hi We are booked on the Joy - Haven out of New York. What time did you arrive at the terminal? I understand the Haven has a separate waiting area with snacks.

We were there around 9am. When you are allowed to book in, check as early as you can and it gives you times to pick from. We picked the earliest one available when we checked in. It does have a separate area where some snacks and drinks are provided. As soon as you are in that room the staff begin to look after you.

The ship was very nice ,but our disabled room was dirty , still sick from breathing dirty air .

I am sorry you had to experience this terrible situation. Have you ever brought to their attention? Usually they are quite quick into looking into things and remediate. If the ship is not at full capacity they could also change your cabin for same category or better. Dirty is not an excuse and that has to do with your cabin steward not cleaning it properly, to the company's standard and that is unacceptable.
