Very well explained with perfect physical example👌🏻. The self start mechanism is like a mystery and most of the bikers including me fire up wrongly by using the accelerator. I just picked up a 2nd hand classic 500 , 01/2016, 5000kms, a week ago. And unfortunately did the similar thing - hit race with self.. and today in morning when it was cold.. it didn't start.. did that weird sound. I will try again otherwise, would need parts. Unfortunately the parts availability is tough in Australia. 🤔🤔🤔😭😭😭 Can someone help? Also, koi bata sakta hai , kitne minutes ke baad, it is okay to rev/race it...??

I agree with you that when you start the bike using self don't accelerate your bike and I added two point that when you start your bike with self you have to depressed your clutch lever and Prees the starter button until the engine start..If the bike doesn't start at first attempt then wait for 30 seconds then apply above procedure..your bike's self bearing clutch plate and battery have long life..happy riding

Bike doesn't start without giving accelerator, what to do? Also, is it good practice to start bike with starter with bike being in 2nd or third gear?? Also, when bike gets turned off while riding, is it good practice to start bike by releasing cluth in running bike?

Hi Rammy, this video is really helpful, I am facing this issue for almost 2 years. Every time i visit to my locality royal Enfield service center they point this problem towards battery issues. Unfortunately this is the only showroom at my locality (Port Blair- Andaman and Nicobar Islands). This will help me fix the issue. I also have an issue with the Silencer pattaka sound when deaccelarating while riding at high RPM, it would be great if you can help is with that. With regards, Vasant
