taeyong once said there's nobody that cares for him as much as doyoung so this video really doesn't do their friendship justice lmaooo they love to troll. if u want to see how close 127 all are they did this 3 part series called "to you" where members were assigned another member to express their true feelings to and lemme just say taeyongs message to doyoung brought him to tears... u could check it out in ur free time u dont have to react to it its just a suggestion! tho its not that long each ep is 15-17 mins

8:10 yes this exactly!!! The korean culture are known to be pretty touchy even with friends (both amongst males and females) to show their affectionate and I find that so so wholesome!! I’m asian but even the males here aren’t normally as touchy still because of the stigma, but they are some who can so I would say it’s not as bad as the western culture (sorry to say!). It’s so great that kpop idols are not afraid to show it and that the fans can appreciate it instead of labelling them as “gay” or whatever.

Oh yay I'm so glad you're starting to watch this kind of content too! A lot of people underestimate NCT (and 127's) friends completely. These guys have spent YEARS together and gone through hell, they've had pretty extreme language barrier issues all across and been forced to find ways to communicate, more than half the group is foreign and left their homes and have frequently said they've found new homes in NCT. This video alone doesn't do it justice (especially with Taeyong and Doyoung - they act awkward, but those two are VERY close friends and often play the role of listener and supporter when the others mental or physical health isn't that great and Doyoung is often who Taeyong, as the leader, goes to for feedback and to check in with). All the units have content like this where they talk to and about each other about how they feel, it's all scattered across their reality shows, youtube videos and live streams they've done, but you're sure to see more of it. Also, Taeyong is VERY soft, people get very caught up in his strong performance side and how well he transforms on stage, that they're always surprised to see how soft and sweet he is off stage. It's definitely not just the jacket, and don't get me wrong, he's very charismatic and confident, but he's also super adorable and introspective, very into animals, sweets, the color pink and roses. I agree with what you said about Korea though, don't think Korea doesn't have their own HUGE issues with masculinity, gender norms and LGBTQ, because they definitely do, it just manifests a bit differently, but it's definitely so refreshing to see when watching kpop. It really warms my heart.

From all the different groups videos I've watched, they're all very openly kind and loving towards each other without it ever being made weird like it is here in the states. Hugging each other, complimenting each other, and just overall the way they act with each other is very different than the toxic masculinity we see here. It's always nice too see how they are with each other because they're together so much, and a lot of them have been together for so long.

When I met my favs, they are so much more taller in person than you think. Their proportions and faces were out of this world. They also all smelt really good and were very intimidating. Anything you wanted to say just goes right out the window and you kinda just stutter around your words lol

I love this video! I just wanted to say though that Taeyong and Doyoung are extremely close even though they are acting like weirdos with each other in this video LOL. They are mostly trolling each other, especially Taeyong, because they don't feel comfortable showing how much they deeply care for each other in this kind of environment. I mean they have matching Cartier friendship rings so don't let their standoff-ness fool you :) They have been best friends for years and they have the kind of friendship where they give each other shit all the time because they care so deeply.Just wanted to let you know!

Since there are members from different groups, you can see and find out about their friendship too, they are from different groups, but at the same time they are also in Superm. This makes the video even more interesting, it is literally filled with cute and funny moments. What you said about meeting idols is so accurate. In my case, I've seen them plenty of times since we live in the same area and I think admiring them from afar is better lol. They're normal people too but I'd like to indulge myself in the image of them I've made up in my mind for my own comfort and sanity

Yea I agree so much! There’s a saying that’s like “you should never meet your idols” and not that I idolize these guys but I think it’s like you see these people through media platforms and have an idea of them in your own head, and it’s scary for that not to be what you want it to be in real life. Kinda like that haha, even though sometimes they’re exactly what you think. But the fantasy is sometimes much better.

@@rjkpop idk if you'll see this but it's scary that some people are actually obsessed with the perfect image of them. Tbh they're gorgeous but far from perfect. They have skin problems, sometimes they get bad days and that's fine. But imagine a person obsessed with them finding that out, wouldn't that be so destructive in a sense?

I totally agree with your feelings about American men and the way they're brought up to relate to each other, and I think it's one of the side benefits of Kpop becoming popular that boys get to see a wider range of ships they can have with each other. I also love the gender-bending and I hope people get to the point where it just doesn't matter anymore. Straight, gay, male, female, somewhere in between it all - who cares! (except for natural curiosity, of course 😋) If I ever met an idol I stan, what I would *want* to do is jump into their arms like Haechan did to Taeil, but I would restrain myself. LOL

Just revisited this today and wanted to answer that "What would you do," question about meeting your favorite idol somewhere. I traveled with lots of famous musicians as a reporter for several years and in the end, they're just people like you and me. Some drove me insane, some were lovely and witty and wonderful and a few are still friends--one is my daughter's godfather. Read the moment, if you see someone you admire, and if they seem approachable or aren't with family or friends trying to have some quality time...thank them for the joy they've given you.

So taeyong and doyoung are really close and bicker a lot but they are really close as doyoung said he's someone he can cuss with, and they often take care of eachother. I get what you mean about American guys and compliments…as a girl in college, I’ve noticed me and my fellow female friends call each other hot, cute, sexy, we hold hands and cuddle, but the males I know can’t even say each other’s hair looks nice without feeling “sus” ☹️

Hi I am Korean! In Korean it is a really normal thing that showing their own affection to another people who have same sex. Boys commonly hug one another. So do girls! Because I have been grown in Korea, honestly I cannot understand Americans' thoughts that it is gay things to do like that.

But! There is the obvious reason why Korea people can freely express their affection to the same sex. Because homosexuality is taboo in Korean society, people cannot imagine boys' or girls' couples even if people see them hugging each other. There are positive and negative, opposite aspects.

Unfortunately, what you’re describing in America is the result of toxic masculinity. There’s so much fear of appearing “unmanly“ that many men feel they can’t even express emotions except anger. I really hope this next generation is changing. I’m beginning to see it in some of my high school students, and it’s wonderful!

@@rjkpop It’s encouraging. I teach in a small town in Texas, and I usually feel woefully out of place here. But last year one of our graduates was an openly gay young man who looked amazing in the mini skirts he occasionally wore to school. He also stepped up to play football when the team needed another player, and was welcomed by the coach. Albeit slowly, it really is possible for some things to change. 😊

Hi! good reaction to the NCT guys! And, I wanted to tell you that Yeonjun's Artist of the Month performance for July came out this morning! It would be cool if you gave it a look and if you liked it, leave your like and support ... also that if you want to make a reaction video then PLEASE leave links to the original video and remind people that they must also support the original video (this I say this because in less than an hour many people uploaded hundreds of "reactions" to Yeonjun's presentation but nobody left a link to the video or clarified that the original video had to be supported and that causes low views of the original presentation. people were unfazed or gave any opinion ... it seemed that they were simply making the video by views and now) Also, the views of the video were frozen for like three hours in which only the comments and likes increased (and the video has only been 5 hours after being published and the views froze at 30 minutes, but the likes according to uploading!). In the presentation at first glance it may not seem like it, but Yeonjun is telling a story throughout the presentation! something like "from zero to idol" you know? I think many did not realize that ... whatever, sorry for writing so much xD hoped you have a good day!
