Kun is part of WayV and he is the leader of WayV. Sungchan just debuted with NCT together with Shotaro. Sungchan's debut song was "90's Love". He is not in a fixed unit yet. This song goes way back to when they were Rookies. They used to sing this song during their Rookie Days (Taeyong, Kun, and Doyoung)and it was originally called "Switch Off" which if I don't recall wrong TY wrote and composed, but he wasn't credited for it. Kun wrote the Chinese lyrics for this. Don't quote me tho, I can be wrong in a few things my memory isn't that clear. This song talks about the hardships and sacrifices they went through.

This is my absolute favorite song off the Resonance album, PERFECT combination of vocalists and rappers, beautiful arrangement, and Taeyong and Doyoung actually wrote and performed this as a duet years ago before NCT debuted, but the lyrics and production changed a lil bit for official release. However, it still holds that sentimental and nostalgic feel. Something about the beauty of Kun and Doyoung's voices and how it builds ALWAYS makes me at least emotional, if not cry, everytime I hear it. I hope you check out more b-sides sonn, especially from Resonance.

this song really made me weepy upon first listen and i love this about nct’s b-sides (which honestly, i am more drawn to than the title tracks) light bulb is my favorite as well off resonance and is in the same league as my love for sun & moon in cherry bomb, back 2 u in limitless, fly away with me in regulate! they all take me on an emotional journey and hit me with all the feels! :-)

Light bulb is one of my favorite NCT b-sides out of all of their b-sides for sure! (I still don't forgive SM from changing Taeyong's original lyrics tho lol). They first performed this song (with Taeyong's lyrics) back in 2015 (before their debut!). It was called Switch Off at the time and you can find the performances on KZbin at first just Doyoung and Taeyong, and later Taeyong and Kun. Fans have asked for the song to be relased officially and finally after years they released it in an album! There's also a behind the scenes for the recording of this song on the NCT Daily channel!

honestly the things taeyong's been through i don't get how he's still going w being the kindest most selfless person ever. this song looks like it's about a relationship but he finds a way to add stuff about what he went through in a very subtle way. yestoday is another example of a song he wrote. recently he teased a solo song on his vlive and the lyrics to it are so painful and its beat is weirdly very lively. he's everything!

Taeyong wrote this even before NCT debuted. He was being falsely accused of many things and people were saying that he didn’t deserve being in the group. If you notice the lines “don’t keep up with my news” “my reputation already hit the floor between your friends” it makes a lot more sense. This song is absolutely beautiful and my personal favorite from the album.

One of my favorite things about this song is their use of 깜빡 (flicker). I get chills when I hear Doyoung and Kun say "kkambbak kkambbak". It is somewhat of an onomatopoeia. There are a lot of words in Korean that they use to explain what sound something makes. When i hear it, the image of a streetlight flickering on and off pops in my head and it makes me feel so emotional and lonely. The other thing that is cool about this is that 깜빡 is also used when people say they forgot something or that something slipped their mind. This word and Doyoung and Kun's delivery complemented the harshness of Taeyong and Sungchan's rap so perfectly!!!

The way Kpop album works is the "Title Track" the song that gets the high production MV and the one the artists promote is usually a song that's produced with the mainstream audience in mind. The song with the addictive beat or catchy hook that would help attract people who aren't fans yet to check them out. The "B-Sides" the other songs on the album, is where the artists really experiment and play around with different styles and stray away from the "mainstream" sound. Also, Kun is in WayV while Sungchan is a newly debuted member and currently doesn't have a unit.

I agree with you about the b-sides. It usually happens that the title tracks (the ones that get music videos) have to be the most mainstream and attention grabbing where the b sides get to show off more of their personal style and talents. This was one of my favorite b sides from resonance pt. 2. I also really like I.O.U and Dancing In the Rain.

The first time I heard this track it hit me at my core. I haven’t read the lyrics at the time but the delivery speaks for itself. I love a Taeyong/Doyoung combo but Kun and Sungchan were a great addition to this song. There are a few more songs like this from their rookie era that haven’t been released. I’m so glad you guys finally got to this! It’s my favorite song on Resonance.

resonance sure have lit b tracks. i liked the songs from the different units under the album, nectar from wayv, music, dance from 127 and deja vu from dream. also faded in my last song, i. o. u, dancing in the rain is great too. the neozone album from 127 also has great bsides especially love again and nonstop from the repackaged album punch. imo artists from sm have great bsides and worth listening into even if you don't like the title track from an album. an example is shinee's undercover, one minute back, you and i, symptoms and odd eye to name a few.

Indeed, the b-sides are usually reserved for the artists' authentic vision and emotional expression. I'd recommend Faded In My Last Song and Back 2 U because NCT 127 are absolute masters of emotive R&B ballads and My Van (somewhat of a successor to Mad City) as a more personal song which Taeyong and Mark had had much input into. But, they also have commercial b-sides which are thoroughly fun, Deja Vu by NCT Dream, Mad Dog, produced by Hitchhiker is absolutely wild, Sit Down is a great diss track (even more legitimately Mad City pt.2 than My Van had been) that one is by NCT 127, while NCT Dream has had their own version which is Quiet Down, while WayV's Nectar's appeal is undeniable. Also, off of SHINee's new album, really recommend Body Rhythm because reggae is so seldom explored in K-Pop and while they don't really go all out, it's a great take. Thanks for reacting!

it's true though, songs that companies choose for their idols to promote as the title track are usually trying to to continue the group's theme, concept and or music style while also being mainstream enough (in kpop terms) to be on the radio over there in south korea + get attention. for me, b sides are always superior for every group i stan since i'm someone who likes rnb or chill hiphop most of the time.
