@@entertainmentworld5238 *No...* _"The Solid Voice Over_ *That Doesnt Sound Dubbed",* can only mean one thing - that OP believes the audio to be dubbed over because OP can't hear the wind, while it appears to OP to be totally natural and synced up perfectly; OP clearly does not realize that the audio matches perfectly to the video because it is in fact recorded on-set/live, hence Markus's response.

It's really fascinating on how things change based on what you place in front of the lens and what colors are being pushed into the sensor via that lens. I've net to use ND filters with photography, but I use it when I film with my C100 MKII all the time. That built-in ND filter system is really nice and I wish a lot more camera manufactures would include those in their bodies.

I've worn Polaroid glasses for 50 years. Love em. Funnily I've only just bought my first CIR-PL for a camera! This video was helpful / inspiring. I agree with brand issues. Very good points well illustrated. For anyone who can't get the brands you've suggested, we seem to have a bias down under (Oz) for Hoya. Been happy with them, but yeah, I don't know any different! Watch out for cheap ones online (any brand) - they may not be genuine. Fakes inside second hand boxes! Back in B&W film days, a UV filter was both a protector and better for UV sensitive film. Then a skylight became the norm. NA for digital sensors. Now I've got a 'protector' filter. Allows more light to pass. I know you said you don't like filter adapters (so you can use a large filter on smaller threaded lenses). If you buy adapters and permanently leave them on all lenses, and only buy the one size filters, then it's convenient, less weight and cheaper. Interestingly one brand is now looking to standardize filter sizes across a range of their new lenses! Should have happened years ago! I've used zooms for 40 years. Not once has anyone said - "Oh, that's taken with a zoom. Why didn't you use a prime?" Ok, I'm not a pro relying on high res for commercial work. However, when time and weight are of essence (eg travel grab shots - which is what I mainly do), zooms are great. Only need one lens and can zoom in or out and take lots at different shots at different focal lengths very quickly! Then worry about which is the best later! Had an APS-C 18-270. Now have a FF 24-240 which does more and better. With mirrorless bodies, zooms are cheaper and better than ever. Especially when the body does in camera lens corrections for JPEGS! Cheers

Another use for a CPF is to darken down a LED display - e.g. doing an indoors scene with a TV running as part of the picture. With the CPF you can darken down the light of any LED screen - i.e. the TV or home cinema flatscreen - until its brightness harmonizes perfectly with the brightness of the ambient light of the surroundings. Much easier than going through 100 menus to mess up the adjustments of the TV itself, just to stop the damn' thing from overexposing on your photo or in your video. The secret behind this is quite simple - LED displays emit linear polarized light. (Note: this does not hold for individual LEDs - e.g. Xmas chain. But you can turn down an LED display to absolute black. Just hold a CPF - the right way round - in front of your eye and slowly turn it. The TV picture vanishes completely. Really uncanny!)

I never really thought of different camera and lens combinations having an effect on what filters will work best so that was good to know. I use Nisi Variable ND 1.5-5 and 5-9 filters as I found them to give me the best image quality with no noticeable color cast on lenses I use or noticable X when stopped down. I used to use SLR Magic Variable ND II. It is a Variable ND with a polariser and to get the polarising effect, you just turn the whole filter, which means unscrewing it slightly from the lens. I stopped using it as it slightly softened my images and had a slight warm color cast. I have used polarising filters to remove the reflections on the surface of water so I could get photos and videos of fish and marine life in rock pools. I don't normally use lenses that have a bigger than 77mm filter thread so I use 77mm filters and if necessary, I use Breakthrough CNC step up rings. I'd never use step down rings though due to the high chance of vignetting. I use Variable ND filters rather than fixed NDs because I shoot log video and I want to dial in exposure exactly right with midtones at a certain IRE without changing the shutter speed or aperture and I can't always do that with fixed NDs. I mostly shoot videos' outdoors in natural lighting and the light can change quickly so if I was using fixed NDs and had to switch them out, by the time I changed NDs, the light might have changed and so will my exposure and I'd have to change filters again, but not with a Variable ND.

Great video. I try to use PL filters always in daylight (when I don't forgot it at home) but not to remove water or sky reflections but to control the light orientation before hit the sensor. Since I use the phone to film and I can't control the light, the AI get very confuse when I have the bright green and the sun is about 45º, making the image to wobble. I don't know why no reviewer spot this issue, but most cameras that the image wobbles in certain light conditions (I saw a clip with AX53 wobbling when the guy zoom (probably it would occour with the AX33-43)), if light direction is the issue, the PL will fix that.

For shooting nature videos and views of the ocean (without much movement) with a smartphone would you recommend using a VND and CPL filter in one or just the CPL filter alone? Amazing video. How good are the postprocessing polarizing filters today? Can you get the same results to the sky if you apply polarizing in post on a raw file?

I have never edited my stills, although I am sure it would look better. I love it 'S. O. O. C .This video has been helpful with respect to cpl filters. Never realized it was specific. I can't afford to test them all. So I think I will look around for a promaster hgx cpl soon.

Great Tips Mr. Markus. I have had the same problem with trying to find a "universal" Polarizer for all my lenses... they don't exist (imho). Cheers!

Good morning Markus, so we can say that you can constantly use this filter to get the super sky, contrast and better colors and in a way it softens the skin too and why not use it in the studio? Do you recommend it? Hugs from Brazil my friend :)

It does nothing indoors, only works when there is an atmosphere and sky or reflections in glass and mirrors
