Why no one says more white americans should invest and try living in europe ? it's a beautiful continent !
@waynehill2444
@waynehill2444 7 жыл бұрын
Why? Because, typically, white americans have no problem traveling and relocating to Europe. In contrast, generally speaking, black americans do not commonly view Africa as a viable place to visit on vacation, much less, a place to actually relocate to and live. Hence, the title of this very series, "The New Africa". It provides a complete picture of what many African countries are actually like. As opposed to the one-sided, negative view often portrayed in the media.

************ As A Black American I dream of living in Africa I graduate in a yr my husband and I are looking into moving to Africa we are young and eager to bring something new to the continent and to take a lot out of it. My husband is from Jamaica and he visited Ghana about 4yrs ago and loved it. We've had our first child and can't wait to raise him and emerse him in the culture. I graduated from an HBCU( Historically Black College and University) and alot of Black millennial like myself have Africa on the mind and tongue. I have a lot of friends who have visited Africa I.e Botswana, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya.... And loved it. I can't wait to make Africa home.

@FreakingSweeeet
@FreakingSweeeet 7 жыл бұрын
AwilDoinIt Well, there's no place in South Africa were you'll find mainly black people. Yes, the majority of people living in townships are black, but there's also quite a few mixing of Indian, colored and Arab in there as well. If you're not quite sure I'd try doing research about Johannesburg because Cape Town is mainly a tourist destination.

Out of all the places Folu has shown us in Africa, South Africa has really been the saddest. True, it is more developed but everything still cries out the injustices of apartheid. I could feel it in the whole video. At least the other developing places send a message of growth, transformation and hope.

what is the social structure like in Cape Town? I'm getting really interested in the city for years, but I also got the impression that the bigger part of the area are the slums behind the mountains where the more authentic population is concentrated. I think it is wonderful how it is gaining international importance but am I wrong thinking it is also quite racist in it's core?
@jimbobjones3391
@jimbobjones3391 8 жыл бұрын
+the bombson You are quite wrong about Cape Town being racist in it's core - inequal perhaps, and bear in mind the many cultures represented. Slums and shanty towns are due to recent urbanisation - successful, good governance (City and province is not run by the corrupt ANC) and better opportunities than the rest of South Africa, the main reason why so many from all parts of South Africa and the rest of Africa come here. Come check it out!!

If you’re traveling in Africa can you please show black businesses and authentic African cuisine that doesn’t consist of white people that colonized us?
@FoluStorms
@FoluStorms 4 жыл бұрын
thanks for the feedback! the reality is that as a result of colonization/migration there are a number of Africans who are not black, and to segregate in providing information that might be interesting to a number of people on the basis of their skin colour was never my intention. A number of our cities are quite cosmopolitan and multicultural and I tried to show that. However your point is very well taken an in future productions I will consider that. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! You make me work harder and smarter.
