I thought NDBs were already decommissioned. I had a lot of hard times in learning the NDB approach during my IFR training. Your explanation make a lot easier to understand. Well done.

Much improved acoustics! But the O in VOR still means omni, not discrete, so the signal is propagating in all directions from the antennas.

Yes, GPS will work on That Cessna C172. You're GPS Satellites are in Your Clouds: 10,000 Feet. That Cessna C172 Flies Between 3,000 to 7,000 feet. GPS Would work up to 5,000 Feet.
