Give it another 5 years and she will become the young Vengerov, but different. I have not seen anything like this, ever. Not just her impeccable technique (which im sure she worked very very hard for), but there's also something very natural, very innate about her music that's hard to describe with words. You dont usually see this in other prodigies

You can tell her violinistic approches and musical ideas are not always in the style of her teacher whom she adores and respects. But fortunatelly her personality imposes. This piece is so well known that performances can seem routine and hackneyed, but Maria Dueñas plays it with total freshness and individuality. The conductor asked the players to elaborate on the details of the piece, and the deliberate delicacy was at its peak. It was an amazing delicate performance. The emphasis on pp, ff, mp, mf is incredibly delicate. This is the best violin concerto I've ever heard by Max Burgh.

In a letter to a friend in 1868, Bruch wrote about his collaboration with Sarasate: "Sarasate often helped me to refine the work, and he contributed a great deal to the technical realisation." So what makes more sense than to have a young Spanish woman take on the solo part? The fire that Bruch - perhaps with Sarasate's support - has put into the third movement in particular can be felt in every fibre during this performance. Bravissimo María!

Brava Maria! The deaf adjudicators at CMIM 2019 couldn't see/hear that they were witnessing the first true great virtuoso of the 21st century. That's ok because she doesn't need any competition prize to define her superior artistry. There is no other violinist/soloist on stage today like Maria, period. Watch & listen to her now. @@dingbaaat5569 I will admit there was incredible synchronization at that moment between her and the orchestra, almost like only two separate instruments instead of dozens. And that is present throughout in other moments. I've seen soloists who do not have that kind of almost "collective" consciousness with the orchestra, even great soloists, and it's always hard to watch/listen to.
