Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup kzbin.infoUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

NDYakAngler is the last great fishing youtuber left. Everything this guy puts on the internet is completely raw and untouched. He's just a guy who showcases his fishing trips, no matter the catch, and that's why everyone likes him. I think people are sick of the Googan-types everywhere who take the fun out of fishing. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to this channel for being great and one of my favorites. Never sell out and never change your vids, dude.

Once again, Matt, I want to thank you for opening my eyes. I've tried ice fishing here in Maine a couple of times. I froze my ass off, caught next to nothing, and decided that all ice-fishing enthusiasts need a change in meds. But you and Jake (I'm already a Jagged Tooth fan) fished a highly productive lake, on a windless day, with a lot of interesting equipment that I've never even heard of. Most important, you had a LOT of fun, which has always been the focus and theme of your channel. Thanks, as always, for sharing that fun with us. Best, Chris

It is an acquired taste, but the taste is supreme; especially when *the fish are on/you're with good friends* and at the same time you have: 1] the beautiful sunny days where you can fish in semi-light clothing, and; 2] when dusks skyline looks like a painting, only to be followed by; 3] a sky filled with so many stars that you think you're looking at the entire universe; "God is in His heaven."

For a guy that’s spent his entire life living on the gulf coast, I’m a little jealous of being able to just toss your fish on the ice and not having to worry about an ice chest.
@trolologuy022 жыл бұрын
You can even make a sort of ice chest by drilling a “box” into the ice by just drilling multiple connecting holes without going through the ice. Just drill a normal hole near it and pump the auger up and down to fill the box with water, then you got yourself a makeshift ice chest, really handy if you’re keeping several fish

That should be about all you need! I used a hand auger for several years and they’re fine for ice under 8”. We usually get 2-3’ by mid winter here so I had to upgrade to something powered.

@@ndyakangler thanks for the reply, I actually bought it thinking it was a garden post auger because I wasn’t in an ice fishing frame of mind when I first moved up here and saw it at goodwill and it wasn’t until I went to use it and saw Eskimo written on the side I thought maybe it had a better purpose ;) I’ll be putting a video up either way good or bad so I can remember where my ice fishing journey started ;).
