Intellectually, I know that 'All good things must come to an end'. When I heard that Neal Adams had passed away, I first experienced shock. As I began to accept that he is no longer going to create beautiful paintings, I began to feel gratitude for the tremendous legacy he left for the fans of his art. My first overwhelming astonishment of his paintings is the cover of the first issue of "The Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu" (1974). Then I was amazed by the covers he painted for "Savage Tales" and "The Savage Sword of Conan" (1974). And then I was delighted to see the "Tarzan" paintings for Ballantine books, the black series (1975). After those examples of the heights his art is capable of attaining, Neal Adams has become my personal favorite artist. And like all the great artists before Neal Adams that I had considered brilliant artists such as: Frank Frazetta Michaelangelo Leonardo da Vinci Toulouse-Lautrec Neal Adams has joined those truly gifted artists.

An artist way before his time. If you go to his Uncanny X-Men run in the '50s he was doing art that didn't exist. He was the complete opposite of Jack Kirby whom everyone else was trying to emulate at the time. A true revolutionary!

He is a great character that sadly doesn't show up very often. A super hero who is a ghost that can possess people and take control of their bodies. There is an issue where be takes over Batman's body and also teams up with him. Lots of fun!

Sir I need a suggestion from you. While sketching should I keep paper in slanting position or straight as I am using table to draw not easel.
@mattsom3915
@mattsom3915 3 жыл бұрын
Neal himself didn't upload this, but you know, I've never really seen comic art on an easel unless they're for like an exhibition. It's usually best to draw slanted at an angle, if you don't have a drafting table, grab a couple loose small planks and a piece of wood big enough for at least A3 sheets.
