I can't believe I've never heard Neal Morse...i've been a dream theater fan since 1991 and I am a Christian and have always wanted this style of music with these kind of lyrics....I'm blown away right now myself being a musician.....instantly hooked!!

Also look for the band he helped form; "Spock's Beard" :). He was with them (along with his guitarist/brother) till the album "Snow" (the last 3 albums lead vocalist is Ted Leonard, yet another amazing vocalist who is also from the Heavy Prog Rock band "Enchant"). Also checkout Neal in "Transatlantic" and "Flying Colors", both with Portnoy on Drums :). If you go to Neal, Portnoy and Leonard's wiki pages, you'll find all the bands they have played with - the "Family Tree" could be as long reaching as Deep Purple :D.

Neal Morse and the various projects are so much more significant that any musician I can think of. The totality and the quality are just not matched. He seems to have only gotten better as his years have gone on. The sheer amount of it is so HUGE. Its a shame that so many will pass on him because that can't stand the idea of hearing about the LORD that loves them and saves them in times of trouble. Let it not be so anymore. Jesus LOVES you. "all those that call on the name of the LORD shall be saved".

For some reason, pop, rap, and dub step are the most listened to and respected music cultures. I think prog is certainly the most interesting, and the most complicated. It's my favourite by far, anyway. Prog isn't a very popular music culture, (even though it's the best,) so I'm just surprised to see so many views and comments considering how recently it was released.

You called me forth amid the waves And wayward waters That kind of trust I've never found I always wind up sinking down Was I really dead And at the bottom of the ocean? Stay the course I heard you say But all I saw was the long way... Down Now I feel like I’m alive again Spread my arms upon the open wind Yeah, I feel like I'm alive again Crashing waves like breath upon my skin The wounded warrior Has no temporary shelter Chasing down an enemy That always lurked inside of me Finally he killed What he had come to think his quarry The man whose heart was like the sea Was gone and he would never be found Now I feel like I'm alive again Spread my arms upon the open wind Yeah, I feel like I’m alive again Never looking back to where I've been I can see the light Burning in my soul I can see the light I know that I must go The king of surprise In the boredom queen Went out to dine at the bottom line Drinking blood red wine The jack of all trades And the master of none Set out to get back at most everyone It's not too late to get free There's something more you used to see Get back to where you used to be Fly away Lost in the place I'm dreaming I wanna hideaway Gone forever Flyaway Far from the silent screaming I wanna hideaway Gone forever Daughters of angst and wretched rage Pulled a sword from the stone Like Al Capone As the king of pain goes insane Where the Pope of Rome Meets the pope at home And the nicotine stain goes unexplained Fly away Lost in the place I'm dreaming I wanna hideaway Where I can't remember Flyaway Far from the silent screaming I'm gonna hideaway Gone forever Locks on a box Holding inside Face in a mirror Seems to disguise The boy at the door Who I was before Is more than I’ll ever be The sun kissed the day I was well on my way I’d love to just love you But I've no time today The man that I saw Who could stand on the sea Was more than I’d ever be Sometimes In the dark night of my soul In the corner of my life I see the man inside Morning again The sun shining in The boy from the sad side No chance to win Has walked through the door To something much more More than I'd ever be Sometimes In the dark night of my soul From the corner of my life I see the man inside Now I find He is making my dreams alive In the brightness of my day I can see the man inside The wounded warrior With no temporary shelter Had lost the will to stand and fight To the enemy that lives inside Now he's on the run Because the King of angel armies Has come to bring the dead to life And quench the darkness with the light Now I feel like I'm alive again Stretch my arms upon the open wind Yeah, I feel like I’m alive again Never going back to where I've been I can see the light Burning in my soul I can see the light I know that I must go I must go

A very promising song exploring many of the aspects of progressive rock. However, the singing at parts is slightly too Bruno Mars but that may or may not make this song and the general category more accessible to a wider, 2010-audience. I would have also added some more high notes in order to fully fill up the soundscape because I felt that this song, while almost there, was still lacking something to be a masterpiece of the likes of 'Close to the Edge' by Yes. All in all, at parts a reminiscent of the late 70's can be heard, the influence of many progressive rock epochs and the likes of Dream Theater. Alive Again is a good shot at the beyond of rock, but it shows that development is still needed.
