"Through the rain in the fire, I have finally FOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUND YOUUUUUUUUU!" Eric is a hell of a singer. That's probably the single most powerful part of this incredibly powerful song. Chills.

I have been tormented And I have been deceived I have known depression A thousand nights I couldn't sleep Facing all my enemies I was paralyzed with fear But following a question And I'm not really clear But it led me here... Where I have seen and I have known By setting down the road called home The journey is to be with you For I have seen the broken sky turn blue The broken sky turn blue Why go through the trouble? Why not just disappear? Why all of these questions? Why doesn't God just make it clear? The rain becomes a river The stream becomes a lake Keep following the whisper No matter what it takes 'til you reach the gate Where I have seen and I have known By setting down the road called home The journey is to be with you Your love has made the broken sky turn blue The broken sky turn blue There's a song in the night There's a city of light There's a universe yet to be known There's an opening door There's so very much more As together we seek to come home Yeah I have seen and I have known By setting down the road called home And journeys end, I am with you For I have seen the broken sky turn blue Now I belong to you I belong to you And it's been a long day now Down this road I have traveled And it's been a dark night And I've been searching so long Through the rain in the fire I have finally found you And It's been a long day now But this son's coming home This son's coming home This son's coming home To be the completed man To love and to understand To change everything I can It now makes sense to me To be who I could not be To love you so easily With your life inside of me Let the great adventure now begin...

Think of it as not wasting your life. Maybe you didn't focus on just one thing. But all that you learned and experienced did bring you here. You just took a different road to get to where you are. Be proud of that. You learned things others will never know. They were all too busy focusing on just one thing.

Saw the band in Mesa, AZ, Sunday last, and start to finish It was simply the most astonishing musical performance I have ever experienced. I'm 60, and I've seen every great group you can imagine at some point during the last 45 years.The level of musicianship meets or exceeds that of any of the band's predecessors, from ANY era. But, perhaps most importantly, the music is actually ABOUT something. The Similitude album is amazing: If it had been released in the '70s, it would have been right up there with "Tommy," "Dark Side of the Moon," and---yes--even "Jesus Christ Superstar." I was hoping the live performance would at least come close to the perfection Neal and the rest of the band achieved in the studio, but that night they EXCEEDED it in every way. Special kudos to Eric Gillette, who is truly among the finest two or three guitarists I have ever seen. Don't pass up a chance to see this band. They have EARNED our enthusiastic support!

You can tell Neal morse didnt want to end the last song of the album without having people listen to his voice, Eric Gillete's voice was PERFECT for this ending, I feel the song should had just ended at 8:50, I rant about this because Portnoy actually talked about the band wanting to end it like that, but that it was Neal's band and his desicion, cocky neal.
@smeagolmazurenko52387 жыл бұрын

Neal did nothing here - the whole album consists of pieces of his earlier works. VERY secondary creativity.
@tixximmi16 жыл бұрын
Well Lykian, if this is just secondary then I can't wait until Morse takes music more serious. With all the comments I've read, I think it just may be your opinion that is very secondary creativity. I heard a building upon his earlier works. But most composers do that. And if you take Frank Zappa's approach to writing music, he claims it's just part of the same song. The Universe is one note. The Ocean is the final solution.
@bosstime20106 жыл бұрын

Neal, PLEASE stop with the overtly religious stuff. It is fine to have a Christian rock career but PLEASE stop it in your mainstream stuff. You ruined the last transatlantic album with it...
@AlexGhiurau7 жыл бұрын
Steve P an artist pours out everything in its art, even his beliefs.
@tixximmi16 жыл бұрын
First, I don't find it overtly religious. There can be found different meanings. Don't let religion get in the way of a good song. (maybe if you would just listen. You certainly aren't hearing.)
@bosstime20106 жыл бұрын
Steve P this is far from overtly religious. Yes it's spiritual but certainly not preaching religion. Not to mention it's based on a novel.
@ronforeman25565 жыл бұрын
If Neal was going to "stop with the overtly religious stuff," he should have started by NOT having the band do a concept album based on the classic tomb "The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan. Jeez! As Ian Anderson might say, Neal's God is not "the kind you have to wind up on Sundays."
