Riding on the tremendous success of their breakthrough album, The Grand Experiment, The Neal Morse Band set out on a tremendously successful world tour in the spring of 2015. Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy have teamed up with Randy George, Eric Gillette, and Bill Hubauer to create one of the greatest progressive rock bands of all time. Full stop. The Alive Again package shows them at the top of their form performing for a rousing audience in Holland March 6, 2015.

The Neal Morse Band performed Morsefest London 2024 at our church a couple of weeks ago, and without exaggeration, I can say that we witnessed two world-class performances by some of the most talented musicians alive today. Neal's creativity does not come from this world; it is is divine.

To answer the question why Neal Morse is great at everything - his dad was a choir teacher so Neal was singing multiple harmonies at age 3, he started playing piano at 5 and guitar when he was 9. He was literally born to make music.

You asked how they found each other. Neal and Mike Portnoy became friends when they both left their previous bands around 2000 (Spock's Beard/Dream Theater). They found Randy George somehow, then they asked for prospective new band members to send in their audition tapes. Eric Gilette and Bill Hubauer won the coveted places, and together they've got more combined talent than any other band I can think of.

Actually, Neal and Mike started to colaborate together with Transatlantic in the late 90's, when Neal was still in Spock's Beard and long before Mike drop out from Dream Theater.

Remember Obelix? Neal Morse is the musical equivalent, only he fell in a barrel of talent and soaked up for half of humanity 😮. Further down the road he met some guys with a similar story and NMB was born. Great stamina by the way 😂
