I have so much trouble defending my final third. If they’re patient and just do simple A passes back and forth it feels like there’s nothing I can do. If I press I get punished. If I try to stay back and protect passing lanes eventually they find a striker in the box and get it past my CB.

People saying the game is 'fixed' because defending is nerfed are just bad attackers, I had no problem breaking down most defenses before, but now, that skill threshold is gone and everything just feels really hacky, we need another update no question

2:10 the slide tackle there, i did the same thing for intercepting a through ball, and my defender also got the ball first but also had slight contact with toty salah and boom a penalty is given. The 2 tackle tax on toty players is horrible. Everything lands on their feet again. It's so not fun to face a toty card when u have 82 pace CBS

So is it almost a necessity to play with 2 CDMs? I've been trying 2 fullbacks, 2 CBs, and either 1 cdm or 3 CM combos and have been getting battered on through ball gaps ... haven't tried a 2 CDM formation yet

6:45 respectfully, I don’t think this guy was a good attacking opponent because when you closed the gap with your CB to cut off the pass, there’s nothing stopping him from continuing down the wing and passing it across goal. With the AI nerf that is the difficult bit: CQ defending because you cannot put all your players in the correct position in the time an attack takes. Any tips?

he went inside to cut in to finesse because I gave him the space, he wouldnt of gone down the wing because of where i was standingm, switch faster to your cbs in your situation

This game is beyond broken, I do all of this but even if I would defende 5 on 1, they simply walk right trough me and score, they score from every position or angle and there’s nothing I can do it’s ridiculous really, and then when I’m attacking they can’t even get one pass right because they are just everywhere, this game makes absolutely no sense, I miss fifa when it was still fifa tbh

I’d say I’m an average/slightly above average player and throughout my years of playing FIFA, I’ve never conceded an absurd amount of goals in ANY FIFA game until this patch. I’ve played from 13-17, 20-25 and I know how to manually defend enough not to concede a ridiculous number of goals. This patch is unbalanced due to how powerful pace is and makes defending way too difficult. Ai defending needs a little buff because it just seems non-existent to me. It also doesn’t help that GKs now are just utterly useless

All the whiners complaining about defense are telling on yourselves. If you know how to play defense and don’t just rely on R1/AI defending, this patch is finally a great step forward. This is the skill gap. Not just in the ability to press buttons but in really understanding the game - spacing, formations, covering etc. If you understand defending, you will actually get better now. It’s the difference between driving a stick shift car and an automatic. One is for real drivers, the other for children. Am just loving all the tears in these comments. You are giving up 11 goals a game bc you don’t know how to defend. It’s that simple. EA - don’t listen to these little boys. You did good (for once).

Ngl FC is a casual game it’s not about learning it like it’s your job 🤣. People like me who have a full on job as a financial advisor or people who are lawyers or whatever just cba with a game that they literally need to put hundreds of hours into to be decent. I’m not saying I should be in div 1 or getting elite in fut champs but I’ve been playing fifa for years since I was 10 and I’ve always been ok I’d say above average not amazing but just ok. This patch has literally made defending impossible I’m not saying it should be like before but games finishing 10-9 are ridiculous and it’s clear everyone is feeling the same unless you are someone who plays it religiously. At the end of the day EA will change it as it’s the casuals like me they want to keep. And tbh most casuals will leave the game as it really doesn’t matter that much if it’s a “skill gap” like we have actual real jobs to do I don’t have time to learn everything about FC25 when in 6 months it will be FC26 and then on and on and no one is going to care if your not good at this game. The game is meant to be casual. Over the past years it’s got more and more competitive with KZbin videos and that teaching how to play better and better. And tbh casuals like me don’t have time or the care to get good. Defending needs improvement and EA will listen to the casuals as I’ll stop playing if it’s like this it really doesn’t mean that much to me 🤣

They ruined the game , there is less midfield action with AI not doing anything unless we control them . It’s just now a back and forth game no midfield game since AI are zombies Devs should just increase the attack and not touch defense AI

If they can make defending manual then they should make attacking manual aswell with manual passing, manual runs and manual positioning. All these clowns sayint "skill issue bro" should also advocate for manual attacking so the game should be entirely based on skill from attack to defence. If they make defending manual then they should make attacking manual also to balance the game. I'm sick of games ending 10-9.

I mean for example if someone plays narrow you could match it but, if you had a narrow formation its hard to defend against someone who uses the wide areas
