@Reed Julius I tried that service and it downloaded a key-logger virus and tried to steal my banking info. So no thanks. NEVER use that service.

I don't really understand the numbers. If they don't know how many objects are why they give a percent of known objects?
@navret17073 жыл бұрын
My question exactly.

It is a known unknown. A how many X in volume Y question where volume Y is very large. You can estimate it by taking a small part of volume Y call it y and measuring how much x there is. Then say the volume you measure y is 1% of volume Y and you count 100 x then you can estimate X is 10000.

We also know the gravitational mass by the effects on other objects. It's how we know how massive "Planet 9" is, even though we can't see it [yet]. (It could be a ring of objects, or a single planet, or a small black hole. All have the same gravitational mass).

Are these “near earth” objects classified as “co orbital” objects as well? Not a lot of folks realize that these co orbital objects are great for having satellites mounted on them to monitor the earth..

We just use a super wide-angle telescope and look for objects that are moving - like that asshole Musk's starlink satellites.

It has happened before. And with "starlink", we will lose the ability to see these forever.
