This is a really nice laptop. Have you ever tried the MSI Prestige 14/Summit E14? I think it is quite comparable to the UX3402 and UM530

At $1300 here in the US, I'm loving this laptop. Great build quality, no flex on the keyboard. The keyboard itself is fantastic, and the touchpad is great (not quite macbook level, but great). Of course that screen. I will say, it's not for everyone.

Loved the review! You said the 13" is all plastic, while the 14" model is metal. Does it employ metal on the internal surface as well, where our hands rest?

Actually I have a correction: the 13-inch AMD model is using a magnesium-aluminium alloy body. It felt like plastic since it's hollow sounding. But it's not plastic - just felt like plastic against my poor judgment. And yes, the entire hand rest area, the lid, and the bottom cover are all made out of the same material for each laptop. Metal for the 14" Intel laptop, magnesium-aluminium alloy for the 13" AMD model

@@NasiLemakTech Last year I bought an LG Gram 17 with the so-called magnesium alloy. And while the lid feels metallic, the palm rests and bottom cover both feel different, a lot like cheap plastic. For an ultrathin premium I don't see that kind of finish as desirable. I hope the 13in from Asus feels better, because I think the 14in port placement is stupid. Asus doesn't even give me the choice of ignoring the ports on the right side and plugging a thunderbolt hub on the left. Thanks for the info & content. I'll be subbing

PEAK* that means that a small handful of pixels can hit 550 nits for a few seconds here and there.

Not available in Malaysia yet. I've asked ASUS Malaysia and they said it might be end of June, but shipment time may change. Anyway, our unit was sent by AMD, not ASUS.

this is not the alternative to UX3402 (Intel i7-1240P), the alternative to that is the UM3402 (AMD 5825U), as the name scheme suggest. this is a totally different laptop. Those are 14". This is a 13.3 ultralight. It's like comparing a ultra small car with an hatchback. This laptop has no intel counterpart. THe closest cousin you could get to this UM5302 its the UP5302 (again see the name scheme) but that is a convertible with many more features (convertible, IR camera, thunderbolt4..) but less performance than this AMD 6800U version

Well it has now with a 1355u. They made it even slimmer with 1 cm. Pretty ridiculous. Weird thing is they managed to put a USB A port on that thing.

@@NasiLemakTech This seems the only negative about this. Can you confirm about the refresh rate of s13's screen, is it 90Hz or 60Hz? On their website they have displayed both at different places. And how does it's battery backup and battery based performance compare to zenbook 14 oled? Thanks.

The spec config truly depends on your country's respective ASUS rep's decision. They decide what to bring to that particular country. Our unit of this laptop is actually directly from Taiwan. As for the battery life, I'd say is comparable. 8 hours easy but depends on what we're viewing since OLED screen power consumption varies greatly.

No such issues at all. If you mean the grid mesh shown on camera, then you won't have to worry since it's only visible on camera and not with our human eyes.

@@NasiLemakTech no it literally looks like a weird screen door mesh pattern on the screen. It's very faint but more apparent on white backgrounds. Is it possible if you can check for me on a white background. It's very small. I'm stuck with two asus laptops right now that I'm waiting to return because they both have this issue. It might not bother some but it's Def not normal.
