It looks like Nearco’s Headstone at Beach House has never been cleaned..Such an important racehorse and later very influential stud horse..deserves a little respect..At least have someone clean the headstone once in a while.

@@DomenicoG1953 That's your opinion but mine is Northern Dancer grandson of Nearco and Native Dancer. Statistics don't lie 16 of first 22 foals were stake winners .He was so thought after that they were paying up to 1 million dollars in the 70s to get a foal that was part of him His sons also were great sires producing many great stake winners.It was Northern Dancer who's bloodline appears in about 75% of the hoses today not once but sometimes 2 or 3 times He changed horse racing in the 20th century it is stated in many comments about horse racing in the 20th century .His sons Nijinsky last triple crown winner in England,Lyphard.Nureyev,Danzig,Storm Bird, Sadler Wells just to name a few and his grandsons are also great sires.

Not only the DERBY "track record", also won the FLAMIGO, FLORIDA, THE BLUE GRASS, THE PREAKNESS, THE QUEENS PLATE, REMSEN at two, his record is unsurpassed to this DAY, or 150 years before he was born, look at the record, THE GREATEST NO ONE EVEN CLOSE, with a quarter crack front right, and as a racehorse still only 2 , because he was born MAY 27, 1961.

@@fklifter1 You are ignoring CONTEXT. Please re-read the thread in light of the vid. I am talking about RECENT sires and racehorses *not listed in the vid.* Northern Dancer is part of the list at the end of the video, along with many other Nearco-derived sires and racehorses. Great as he is, there is no need to give him credit a second time. Nor is poster Alberto Paz-Rodriguez Jr. ignoring Northern Dancer. Paz-Rodriquez, like myself, is listing Nearco descent sires not mentioned in the video.

Many of the great sires came from this timeframe….1930 - 1960…..it was relatively easy back then to dominate a breed… all you needed was the cash and the knowledge of the bloodlines. In America, Belair Stud accomplished this by purchasing Sir Gallahad III and importing him to America. Calumet Farm accomplished the same with European import, Bull Dog. That’s why Belair Stud and Calumet were able to breed two triple crown winners back in the 1930s and 40s, several Derby winners and numerous other champions. Because they imported stallions and started their own bloodline. Not many racing stables can do that today, except for maybe Coolmore or Goldolphin, etc….
