Excellent job once again. My wife and i always started our German-Austrian adventures by driving from Munich to Garmisch where we spent our first night. A bit touristy but there is something so charming about the place that we find it irresistible!

Combine the two NFH vids, and take the Philosophenweg out of Partenkirchen up to the Kuhfluchtwasserfall. Then head down to Farchant, cross the valley and up to the castle and Pflegersee. Return to Garmisch via the Kellerleitensteig for a great day hike.

This vid I find very special for people who have been following you for quite some time, as it was a bit like a " making of" with you commenting on what you do and did in your vids. A very interesting insite. Of course you have done Germish many times before so from that point of viel there was some repetition but like in a very best of GAP you brought together all the different aspects of your previous Garmish-vids, which I liked very much.

Thank you so much!! Camille also wanted to try doing a lot more on camera in this video, and considering we never showed the Alm next to the castle or the lakeside restaurant we hoped there would be enough new content for long time viewers while still reminding hopefully new viewers of one of my favourite day trips.

Last year I was in Zermatt, Switzerland and went up on a funicular to an place called Sunnega, which had a wonderful cafeteria restaurant with a great view of the Matterhorn. I got a schnitzel and the server behind the counter asked me if I wanted onion gravy on it. I said "sure, why not?" and it was delicious! Fast forward 5 days and I'm in a similar cafeteria in Mannlichen, overlooking the Jungfrau region and I ask the server behind the counter if he would put some onion gravy on my schnitzel... Well, he made a face like he'd just eaten a lemon and loudly proclaimed "ewwww!" and gave me the plate with my gravy in disgust! 😀 I wanted to tell him that it was another Swiss guy that suggested it, but I just walked on smiling and thoroughly enjoyed my schnitzel! (Your schnitzel comment at the end of the video reminded me of that!)

@@NearFromHome Well, I'm booked to arrive in Munich on 13 August, spending 4 nights and doing local day trips before moving on to Heidelberg, Leipzig, Wittenberg, and Dresden! What's the situation with the flooding? We arrive in Munich a week from tomorrow and I'm hearing many of the train routes are closed down.

Yes that is true! I would download the DB app as it provides pretty accurate up to date information. But yes, unfortunately, many cities and towns in bavaria are getting really bad flooding and are not accessible at the moment. :/

We are making the trip next week, too. The GaPa TI office told me trains are disrupted the week of 9 June because of long-planned track work. We’re desperately hoping that our flight is on time and we can make our Flixbus reservation. The alternative is a four-train journey that takes about 3.5 hours.

Thank you for the video. Now I'm hungry. 😁 Are you ready to discover the Höllentalklamm gorge this year or are you still worried about the sometimes somewhat airy views?

Höllentalklamm is simply amazing, and can be done as an in-and-out walk without any problems, and this is from someone who is petrified of drops!

@NearFromHome7 ай бұрын
I have not noticed much of an accent in GP. I don't think I have ever heard Bayerisch either. People also speak English really well there. I think this might be because it is a very popular resort town!
@shamicentertainment12627 ай бұрын
@@NearFromHomeok that’s interesting. Also do you have videos about much smaller, sort of less known towns in the south of Germany? I know most of the main towns on the south, but when I zoom in on google maps there’s so many. Everyone always just recommends Garmisch, Füssen bertesgarten, mittenwald, haven’t seen heaps of different ones though. Maybe they aren’t interesting?

@@shamicentertainment1262 I don't know if there are any other villages that are worth just seeing, but there are plenty of villages that facilitate hiking. We really like Flintsbach for that. You can check out our best German can video for that. Kufstein is an Austrian town worth seeing. We also like Bad Reichenhall. The town is cute, and they have a cool salt works. Tegernsee, Herrsching, and Schliersee (village) are both ok, but have lots of lake activities. Benediktbeuern has a cool monastery.
