No actually it looks like the "real" America instead of the glamourous crap of middle class/high end homes we see in Hollywood movies. You people like to call everyplace third world when it isn't clean. Now with KZbin we (in the Global South) finally get to see your poor people too. The propaganda is finally wearing off. By the way we have rich and middle class areas too but no one from your MSM will ever cover those areas because that goes against the stereotypes you've been told all your life..

I used to live in the little Tokyo lofts on San Pedro st between 4th and 5th. Basically the heart of skid row. I was paying $1850 a month and the lofts were beautiful on the inside. But the things I saw when I went outside really changed me forever. After 6 months I couldn’t stand living there anymore and I decided to move out. People would break into the parking garage all the time and many people would have their cars broken into and trashed. Couple people got stabbed on Crocker street right behind the apartments. It’s really a wild place. Also you’ll probably see more human feces than you’ve ever seen in your entire life just walking one or two blocks.

I am a 62 yr old disabled single female. It is 11/22. I was born and raised in L.A. even then there was skid row and OMG ! It has gotten 50 times worse. Come on Government!!!! It is so simple-start something not so expensive like for example,buy a big big piece of property put a gate, get some tough experienced security, Portable toilet with showers, next supply tents for everyone who as ID, then have 2 intake social workers That is the most effective affordable first step the county and state needs to start there DO Not think of such a big fix all ( you will be over whelmed ) how is that working out all of you?????? DO YOU KNOW WHY WE ARE LOSING THE WAR ON DRUGS IN AMERICA? There this hostess bar in San Francisco Chinatown that own by the Chinese call MAJESTIC. That place is not a hostess bar but more like a TRAP HOUSE! And what is a TRAP HOUSE? It a place where you walked in there as a normal person but come out as a DRUG ADDICT! Let me tell you what happens at this hostess bar so you and your family don't fall for this TRAP. When we first got there at MAJESTIC, our driver Johnny drop us off and he went and park the car, we are in San Francisco Chinatown. When we walk inside MAJESTIC the guy that I was with say let Johnny to talked to the manager. When Johnny got inside MAJESTIC he would of TALKED IN SOME KIND OF SLANG WHERE ONLY HIM AND THE MANAGER WOULD UNDERSTAND! The manager sent us to a room kind of like a karaoke room. Three girls came in and sit with us because there was three of us and we are at a hostess bar. The girls don't understand english so every time we talk to them, we got to talk to there phone so it would translate to there language. So I know they are some illegal immigrants from China. Ten minutes later Johnny ask the girls "CAN I GET SOME COCAINE?" The girl say " THE MOMMA GOT SOME." And left the room and came back with some COCAINE. LOL the girls don't understand english but they do understand "CAN I GET SOME COCAINE." Johnny and the guy that went with us started snorting the COCAINE. One of the girls say "YOU SNORT COCAINE." IT BETTER IF YOU SMOKE IT. SO SHE PUT THE COCAINE IN THE CIGARETTE AND STARTED SMOKING IT. RIGHT WHEN I SAW THAT I TOOK OF MY JACKET AND COVER MY NOSE AND MOUTH RIGHT AWAY! WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT BREATHE IN THAT CRACK COCAINE SMOKE.(WHEN YOU SMOKE COCAINE IT CALL FREE-BASE) THAT SECONDHAND CRACK COCAINE SMOKE CAN AND WILL GET YOU ADDICTED!! THAT IS WHY ALL THE VIETNAMESE ON DRUGS CRACK COCAINE AND NOW METH. THAT SECOND HAND CRACK COCAINE SMOKE IS SO DANGEROUS, THEY JUST WANT YOU TO SMELL IT! YOU SMELL IT THE FIRST TIME IT MIGHT NOT GET YOU ADDICTED BUT THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME YOU SMELL IT PROBABLY WILL GET YOU ADDICTED OR GET YOU INTO TRY AND SMOKE IT! THAT'S WHY SO MANY PEOPLE HOOKED ON CRACK COCAINE IT BECAUSE OF THE SECONDHAND SMOKE. THAT WHY WHEN YOU COOK CRACK COCAINE THAT SECONDHAND SMOKE AND SMELL CAN AND WILL GET YOU ADDICTED. AND I KNOW THIS HAPPENS TO A LOT OF THE VIETNAMESE ALREADY BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT THEY TRY TO DO TO ME. THEY WOULD OF SLIP A PILL IN YOUR DRINK WHEN YOU DON'T NOTICE THAT WOULD PUT YOU TO SLEEP! YOU FALL ASLEEP IN THAT MAJESTIC PLACE AND THEY START SMOKING THAT COCAINE YOU WILL COME OUT OF THAT MAJESTIC PLACE AS A CRACK COCAINE ADDICT! THAT PLACE MAJESTIC HAVE GOTTEN SO MANY AMERICANS HOOKED ON CRACK COCAINE AND IT NOT JUST THE VIETNAMESE. THAT PLACE MAJESTIC PLACE IS LEGENDARY ALL THE VIETNAMESE KNOWS ABOUT THAT PLACE. I HEARD ABOUT THAT MAJESTIC PLACE IN THE EARLY 80'S WHEN I WAS JUST A KID! THAT PLACE MAJESTIC HAVE GOTTEN SO MANY AMERICANS HOOKED ON CRACK COCAINE ESPECIALLY THE VIETNAMESE! So don't let you and your family fall for this TRAP because where ever they have one place like this in America THEN THERE ARE MANY MORE PLACES LIKE THIS MAJESTIC IN AMERICA!! If I got to guess there at least one MAJESTIC IN EVERY CHINATOWN IN AMERICA!

You must have gotten there right after an extensive cleanup. I just left a skid row shelter a month ago after living there a year and a half and I promise you it doesn't look like that on a general basis. I guarantee you after a couple of days it didn't look that good. The cleanup crews do a bang-up job though on a daily basis. It's interesting that there weren't that many people on the street. And although it's not the safest place on earth to be but where is these days, you might have exaggerated a little for dramatic effect. Of course, there's a lot of mental issues and drug issues on skid row and you have to be cautious of your surroundings, but there are a lot of good people who live there too. Many of them, including familes with children, who were effected by the pandemic. There are also churches and organizations that visit skid row regularly bringing food and clothing. Skid Row has a rich, sad, and interesting history. Just check it's history out on Wikipedia and see how it has evolved. There's so much more to this story.

Definitely a problem, people become desensitized but all of this is just part of a problem with our social programs that enable this. I heard this politician Andrew yang bring up universal basic income as a possible solution to homeless and poverty. That would technically cover the bare necessities and give every US citizen the ability to get on their feet choosing where they need to spend their money best instead of the programs limiting them. The caveat would've have been removing all other social programs and directing all resources to the UBI at no additional cost. That seems like the best answer, everyone is covered with bare necessities and can still achieve what ever economic status they'd like but would never fall back to 0. Its a shame it got this bad but videos like these are helping and hopefully will send the message that it needs to be fixed.
@andrewcx
@andrewcx 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching & commenting! UBI is necessary. There are just so many factors that put people in this position. The fast growing amount of people growing up in dysfunctional, single-parent households along with inflation + dissappearing middle class isn't helping at all. And these are just a few factors that are making it more difficult to prevent homelessness. Those streets are no joke & if people don't take this issue seriously, diseases are going to take form in these homeless encampments & spared to the rest of the population. This will harm everyone if people remain actionless.
