Glad the vans fixed, you spotted the back plate just in time, I can see why you fitted it the way you did first. The ones I've dealt with on my cars have always had that flange round the outside towards the brake disc over its edge to keep stones and stuff out. Like the smooth way you slid your shaft back into the hole. Hypoid gear oil stinks, I managed to spill a whole load on my shoulder and chest a long time ago while taking a gearbox out. It took a week to get the stink off me after lots of baths and scrubbing, I can still remember almost throwing up during that week. At first I thought you were being a Grinch when Emma wanted to get Christmas stuff for the van. I thought you always want to fit more lights to the van, whats the problem. But at the end with the results you looked like a kid in a sweet shop. Take care, safe travels

Sam is a great friend to definitely have! Also to have a great friend who is a mechanic as well is a bonus! So since yesterday was Friday the 13th my car decided act up and now I have to wait til Monday after work to see why the codes are doing a misfire! The car has 2 codes! I thought maybe the weather had something to do with it! It wasn’t too cold when I got to work at 9am and when we left at around 3:30pm it felt like it dropped 20degrees! Then by the time I got home the car felt like it was going to stall out on me at the mailbox! Lol.. Then as soon as I turn the car back on the check engine light came on and felt like it was going to stall while driving! So I called my mechanic and he did a quick code check and said to come back late Monday afternoon so he can check it out! Mind you my car is 5yrs old and started to have problems around 70,000 miles! I am at almost 80,000 now! So I can’t go traveling far away this weekend! lol..

To be honest mate we didn’t feel comfortable putting second hand ones in so welding the broken ones wasn’t a thought for us, we have done a fair bit of Maintaince the past few months and with travel plans etc just felt it better to get new ones!
