Belated Feliz Cumpleanos Hermano! I wonder if the fun part of seeing ur collection and reorganizing outweighs the frustration of unpacking and cleaning up. I moved last year and only had a couple hundred books plus some toys and statues and even that was a pain in the @$$. I actually ended up buying and having to build kallax shelves and I didnt even have the movers move my collection, I did it so my back was cooked. Anyhow, congrats on the new home, new space, and getting older lol. Keep up the great work as always! Hasta pronto!

Hey Omar, congrats on the progress setting up the new library. I have a question about how you use kallax shelves. It looks like you do two rows of books in each square, with spines facing out on both sides. I’m thinking of doing this with my omnis, but I’m afraid it will be too much weight. IKEA says the shelves are meant to hold 29 pounds each, but if I do two rows of omnis, it will be more than that. Have you ever had any issues with weight when doing this on kallax shelves?

Love seeing stuff like this and the thoughts behind how to organize the collection. I have two 4x4 kallaxes and one billy, but will replace that sh*tty billy with a kallax when time comes :D I organize my stuff by the size of the book first, then publisher, then alphabetically by character. I have room to put 2x4 kallaxes on top of the other kallaxes too if I want and dare. Don't know how stable it will be though, but for now I still have about 9-12 months of purchases left to fill my shelves, also I don't use the lowest row on the kallaxes for books. Age don't approve with that.

How I can feel all of this. I am Just moving Back parts of my collection to my Home. My only two suggestions are Take a 4 by 4 kallax and lay a 4 by 2 kallax on top of it if the room is high enough and for single issues or even for Thin Trades buy drona, in which the Comics are Safe from daylight.

Wow you're doing a great job settin g everything up. Here's a suggestion. Why not make a shelf or two for the Hasbro Shared Universe ? Put all the IDW Transformers, GIJOE, ROM, MASK, MICRONAUTS, ACTION MAN, VISIONARIES, Revolution, Revolutionaries, and First Strike books together. I've done that myself for prior displays.

How's the humidity levels in the basement? I'd suggest getting yourself a dehumidifier, just to keep the humidity levels in check. Also, has the basement flooded before? I'd recommend at least keeping the bottom shelves clear of anything, in the event the basement floods. Those are my suggestions.
