I just got this in the mail today and had the same experience no theme playing. However, I do refurbish video games consoles and handhelds as a hobby so I did some tinkering, and yes although the metal shieldings are soldered to board you can just bend up the metal tab on the side of them and push the batteries out. The batteries are LR1130 you can order a set off amazon for pretty cheap but I'm so impatient I just went to the local CVS and picked some alternative type 389/390 batteries ( you need 3 btw) and swapped them out. I'm happy to report it works just fine now and if I didn't have to go to the store I feel like the process wouldn't take more than a couple minutes to do. Love the channel btw keep up the great work I'm super new to collecting Manga and I greatly appreciate all the content you put out. Take care and happy collecting.

Few weeks later....I’ve bought all 10 books from this series and all the twilight princess ones and I’m just waiting on the last edition I pre order which is volume 9 of TWilight princess. I have the dead battery issue the moment I teared the plastic wrap off. The good news is I am able to remove the old batteries out by opening the lid of the chest. If you look at how the batteries are held in, you just need to pry a small tab with a small flat head screwdriver and push the battery out and slide new ones in. I will have to wait for the batteries to arrive before I can test it out. But it is possible to change them.

Just to update, batteries can be replaced. I have successfully changed my batteries and now the sounds work fine.

I think wind waker did get a manga. But it was a small 4 panel thing that wasn't made into a full manga. I do hope that they make a legendary version of twilight princess, but I am collecting the traditional manga for now. 9 out and the final book 11 is out in Japan, play the waiting game now

I would like to update on this, I got this set over a year ago. The battery died 2 months ago and you CAN replace the batteries (theres 3 small ones in it). You just need to be very gentle and find the right KZbin guide ^_^ But it can be done

Bruh, that music box thing can be fixed without too much effort. I mean, it’ll be more effort than what the cost of the music pieces are worth but if you value that part of the $125 collection you purchased it’s worth plenty. Especially if it’s the battery, you could try plenty of things before breaking out the soldering iron. I’d try to take another identical battery and see if I could “jump” the new one to the old battery first, then try to jump the battery poles to the places where the old battery poles are connecting, then maybe put the new battery on top of the old battery (assuming it’s a coin cell battery) with the two positive poles against each other then jump the outside negative pole of the new battery. After that, I’d just break out the soldering iron though 😅

This was really cool, and so very thorough! ^_^ I have the original soft cover volumes of Ocarina and Majora, and all of Twilight Princess. I cover them in contact paper so the spines stay nice and fresh! I made a big dumb tutorial about it if you check my channel. :)~ But WOW this makes me want to spring for these Legendary Editions. The mangas for the other games have always kind of been on a back-burner for me, like I wanted them _eventuallyyyy....?_ But I just have never made the time or effort. But hearing about the special features in these hardcovers, I think I know which version to go for. Thanks for putting this together! This was really fantastic! ^_^

I would love this as a huge LoZ fan. But I've tried reading manga so many times and my brain still just can't comprehend the right to left reading order. I got through a full book and my brain still couldn't adjust to that reading style. 😔

Do not buy this!!! Its missing pages. I was missing page 19/20 of oracle of seasons. I returned it once finding that. This seems to be the most common missing page but some people are missing more. Some reports of 40+ missing pages but it seems they are all different.
